OTQ at CIM ✨
I posted the same thing 7 years ago when I qualified for the 2020 trials. So much is different but some things haven’t changed: I had a whole community of friends, family, and @brooklyntrackclub teammates behind me every step of this training process. I had a pack of incredible and inspiring women to run with; both in this race and back in BK daily. And I had the desire to get faster and the resiliency to keep showing up.
From the outside it looked like I kept trying to OTQ and failing. Technically true (lol) but I was just trying to get better at the thing I was putting a lot of effort into. Whether the time was 245 or 237 or 229 I was always going to keep trying to improve. I still will! It is so satisfying to hit this mark, but the deep relief comes from feeling like my efforts paid off into a well executed and PR race.
Yesterday wouldn’t have happened without our amazing otq pacers @stephrothstein and @par_sam_sons . 🫶 to @sophyay for the final 10K push, @vjaxs for keeping me in it, and @caitlinphillips calm unwavering belief in me.

I love that my job is technical. I love that it is challenging and evolving everyday. I love that it benefits the city I live in. I am proud of what I do and to be a woman of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math)!

NYRR Team Champs 🏆
In 2018, the first year BKTC ran team champs, we had 17 runners (only 3 women!).
Cut to this past Sunday where the women dominated and won the open and the men were so strong and a close second to CPTC!
Every time I see our singlet, every time I show up to practice, every time I get to cheer on a teammate- I am reminded of how proud I am of this team and how much we have grown and succeeded! It was so much fun and extremely motivating to be out there with everyone on Sunday!

Happiest when running (+cheering) with women. The past three weekends were all about cheering on friends and teammates in the NYC Half, Project 13.1, and MicrOTQ. And then resetting with a run+sauna/cold plunge session with @othership and @nikerunning . Feeling lucky and motivated going into spring! 👊 Happy women’s history month!
