Every athlete’s journey is unique,
Especially through giving birth,
And yet it’s too easy to hold ourselves to someone else’s standard.
We welcome on @caitlinphillips to hear about how her path to a 4th OTQ looked quite different, in such an inspiring way.
Our hope here is to highlight the trends to success marathoners are using to succeed, as well as all the ways that people are performing differently, uniquely, to make running work for them.
Cheers to ‘28 Caitlin!
a belated @runcim262 post and I only have one photo and it immediately preceded me throwing up florescent green for five straight mins but this is a race I’m very proud of and endlessly grateful I had the opportunity to run. Got to share it with some very dear friends @wicked.la@rachel.a.hyland_@vjaxs (+ many more) and my sisters @darcyphillips6@smokeandflowers@kgbc . First marathon since 2022 and having a baby, 43 yrs olde, 2nd masters only to thee Sara Hall, qualified for my 4th Olympic Trials.
So lucky and grateful to have such community in this sport. Can’t say enough thank yous to @thischoi and @seanhlee for signing up for aggressively early ams at the track, to everyone who had to listen to me gripe / continued encouraging me when I was not able to run in 2023/2024 (too many to list), to my sisters for keeping the weekend silly when I was on the verge of emotional breakdown pre race and to @evanjewett for everything. 💟
Thank you to @citiusmag and @audreyallen17 for the photo

Knew it would be a long shot to be on the start line for the Olympic Trials this coming weekend at four months post partum, but I’m sad to miss it. I’ve been so fortunate to participate in 2016, 2020 and proud to be one of a few masters (40+) runners to have qualified for 2024. Like most women’s health issues, there isn’t a ton of info out in the world about running during pregnancy and post partum and it can be tricky to navigate. Almost everything I’ve learned has been gathered from a handful of mom friends (🙏). While I fully expected to have my fair share of challenges….didn’t quite anticipate that I’d still be having quite so many issues or be wondering if I’ll ever run again 🥴. Embracing the fact that my hopeful return to running is going to be a long journey of stuff I don’t really like doing (ie cross training, ie any exercise outside of running) in addition to pt, strength, Chiro etc. but if any moms have experienced longer pelvic floor recovery or want to share their recovery journey in relationship to running, I’m eternally grateful.
Best of luck to everyone this weekend 🫶
