Over the past year, every detail of this remodel was approached with intention. Breathing new life into a building with this much history is never just about design. It’s about respecting what has always been here while thoughtfully creating something that will serve the community for years to come. There are some buildings that hold more than history. They hold memories, stories, and a sense of place for an entire community. @mitchellhouse1921 has been one of those spaces in Lexington for over 105 years, and it has been such an incredible honor to help the new owners completely reimagine it while preserving the character that has made it so beloved for generations. We have absolutely fallen in love with this space throughout the process, and we cannot wait for Lexington to experience it in a whole new way. Watching this historic staple transform has been one of the greatest honors, and we’re so excited for what’s ahead for the Mitchell House. A full home renovation on Lake Murray, designed with the guest experience in mind from day one. With this project, every decision went beyond just “looking good.” We considered flow, durability, comfort, and those small details that turn a stay into a 5-star experience. From materials that hold up to constant use, to layouts that feel effortless for guests, every layer was intentional. Would you believe me if I told you this dreamy kitchen sits inside a hunting cabin tucked deep in the woods outside of Lexington, South Carolina? It’s true. Our clients have a love for both the outdoors and beautiful design, and this space is where those two worlds meet. We grounded the room with a rich, darker wood island, then softened everything around it with an off-white cabinet color layered with the prettiest gray and violet-taupe undertones. It feels elevated but still right at home in the woods. Slow mornings heading out to hunt, cozy evenings back inside with a glass of wine. Exactly how it should be.
