🎙️NEW EPISODE LIVE! @talkdesignpodcast Today, we’re joined by an architectural and interiors photographer who’s crushing it down in Austin, Texas.
He grew up in Cancún, Mexico, and first picked up a camera when he was 16. That was it—he found his thing. But for a long time, it stayed a hobby. In 2020, he decided to make the jump. He left the old grind behind and went pro, focusing 100% on his photography business.
Now, he’s the one people call to shoot amazing architectural spaces. And when he’s not behind the lens, he’s outside, hanging with his dog, Ellie, or cooling off at Barton Springs. Listen now on www.talkdesign.show, YouTube or on Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Pocketcast or Amazon Podcast. 🎧📳 . . . #adrianramsaydesignhouse #TALKdesign #letschat #TALKdesignpodcast #designpodcast #podcast #radioshow #inspiration #designpost #podcastofinstagram #interiordesignpodcast #creativepodcast #businesspodcast #designerpodcast #podcastrelease #findinspo #positivepodcast #designblog #designmatters #design #interiordesign #creativetalk #designtalk #decorpodcast #letstalkdesign #podcasts #homedesign #houseinspo #designthinking

Homes Tour Spotlight: Valburn Residence by @hughjeffersonrandolpharchitect The Valburn project is a direct response to an open-minded client and a challenging sloped site. With a degree in interior design and having lived in New York City for many years, the client requested a house that would combine many of the urban typologies he experienced during his time there. Everything from high-rise penthouse condos to lofts and even urban alleys provided design inspiration. This graceful home will be featured on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in our webinar TODAY, "Good Neighbors: Design and Neighborhood Context," complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for more info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez

Homes Tour Spotlight: Travis Heights Residence by @studiomomentumarchitects After living on the property for five years, the owners were ready to build their new forever home. Studio Momentum Architects was recommended for their experience with smaller inner-city lots and protected trees. A large live oak tree inspired the site strategy of the primary home with a detached accessory dwelling unit. This move creates a courtyard between the buildings, with the tree canopy serving as an organic roof. The front porch and street-facing exterior pay homage to the surrounding historical context, while the interiors are modern and warm, with antique or reclaimed furniture and lighting in every room. This comfortable home will be featured on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in our webinar, " Good Neighbors: Design and Neighborhood Context" TOMORROW, October 15, complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for more info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez

Homes Tour Spotlight: Harvey House by @sideangleside.co Side Angle Side was tasked with remodeling a 1935 bungalow and designing an ADU in the historic Rosewood neighborhood. Using old photos and drawings, the team rebuilt the home to keep with the original spirit and structure, while introducing a modern addition. The new U-shaped layout wraps around an existing tree, creating an outdoor gathering space visible from the home’s main living areas and filling the interior with natural light. This seamless home will be featured on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in TOMORROW'S webinar, " Good Neighbors: Design and Neighborhood Context," complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for more info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez

Homes Tour Spotlight: Sugar Creek Residence by @ml_arch - featured in TOMORROW'S webinar! Sugar Creek is a renovation and new construction to create a home that is practical, enduring, and rooted in its wooded, sloping site. The house renovation focused on openness and clarity. A reworked entry layout of concrete, wood, and galvanized steel supports daily life. A new dining room—glass-walled and extending into the woods—opens to terraces and gardens. The simple concrete guest house opens to the pool and garden. This surprising home will be featured on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in our webinar, "Living without Limits: Indoors to Out" on October 8, complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for more info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez

Homes Tour Spotlight: Casa Colibri by @ravelarchitecture Casa Colibri is a 4,000 sq ft retreat tucked into the hillside of Barton Hills. The lower level is carved into the slope to reduce visual impact and preserve the surrounding tree canopy. A plaster-coated limestone wall with a German schmear finish—referencing neighborhood materials—anchors this level and forms a privacy wall at the street, shaping a calm and grounded entry. Above, the second floor hovers lightly over the base, separated by a clerestory. The house lives like a modern terrarium: glassy, calm, and immersed in nature. See this elegant home on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in our webinar, "Living without Limits: Indoors to Out" on October 8, complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for more info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez

Homes Tour Spotlight: Timberline Residence by @aparallel Nestled on a spacious corner lot just minutes from downtown Austin, this home is a timeless sanctuary for a growing family. Balancing openness and intimacy, its design centers around a sunlit courtyard. Operable louvered panels respond to the rhythms of life, opening to welcome the neighborhood or closing for privacy. More than just a house, this is a retreat—offering solace, connection, and a sense of permanence amid the dynamic city beyond. This intriguing home will be featured on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in our webinar, " Living without Limits: Indoors to Out" on October 8, complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez

Homes Tour Spotlight: Govalle by @drophousedesign and @russ_design_studio The Govalle Homestead, the residence of a Drophouse co-owner, is a design-build/adaptive reuse of a 1938 East Austin home, transforming it into a contemporary estate with two structures to accommodate three generations of family. The variance for the design required that the primary structure's original facade was maintained; the interior was reconfigured with an open floor plan and modern conveniences for the retired couple. The rear dwelling, designed as the younger family residence, presents a distinct architectural contrast to the primary structure, enriching the site's overall complexity. This family-friendly home will be featured on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in our webinar, " Labor of Love: Architects and Builders’ Homes" on October 1, complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for more info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez

Homes Tour Spotlight: Vista Lane by @cuppett_kilpatrick Vista Lane, a 5,300 sq foot new build, is a marriage of modern detailing and traditional forms. In general, the architecture is sharply detailed and stripped of ornament. A Z-shaped diagram delineates two distinct yards. One yard space at the rear is for entertaining, with a pool and a deep covered porch which provides respite from the afternoon sun. The other, a public-facing space, is ideal for yard games. This considered home will be featured on the @aiaaustin Homes Tour October 25-26, as well as in our webinar, " Labor of Love: Architects and Builders’ Homes" on October 1, complimentary to Tour ticketholders. #Linkinbio for more info and tix to this year's tour. 📷️: @robbiegomez
