Photos from fashion show day! My look was inspired by Coprinus comatus, or the "Shaggy Mane" mushroom. In nature, they are white and black, but in the Enchanted Forest, they're white and purple 🦄🪻🪼🦌🍄‍🟫🍃✨️. And they have an attitude, so watch your step 😤 Everything on this costume (except the shoes) was designed and hand crafted by me! I patterned the corset from scratch to fit my model (gorgeous, ethereal, baddie 🤌🏻) @candice__alice . I made a collapsing inner structure for the enormous hat which allowed it to pack flat into a suitcase, I knitted (and then partially destroyed) the sweater, I beaded the belt and the bobbles on the hat, and I patchworked the skirt (and hat) from thrifted clothing. I think it's kind of poetic that I made a mushroom outfit by decomposing and reusing discarded materials... very saprotrophic of me. Wish I had thought of that beforehand so I could claim it was part of the concept but the truth is I came by it honestly 😂 you guys know I love a patchwork moment 🪡 This was such an amazing experience and the photographers really captured the magic! When I say this weekend was PURE MAGIC, I do not exaggerate in the LEAST!!!! Getting to spend two full days with incredible, creative ladies from @whimsy.forge with the legendary @charity.grace was a dream come true, and the ball….you guys, the BALL!!!! Literally stepping into the fairytale of my dreams. 😍 @gildedexperiences Put on an absolutely ASTOUNDING evening for us whimsical nerds, and the hours flew by far too fast!!! I had the most incredible experience trying something new by walking in the @girliesgetaway runway show produced by @whimsy.forge at @sirensongwines The atmosphere was incredible and every designer, model, and staff member was truly a gem 💎 I can’t wait to have more experiences like this! Did this months craft challenge in @whimsy.forge a tad differently than what was showcased. Originally, the challenge tutorial had a mermaid theme, but with all the bark and natural materials I had, I wanted to try using them instead. And boy, did it work well! I took an old pair of gamer headphones that still need to connect directly into the controler or computer to work (not bluetooth) and updated them. It's actually made me want to use them more than I have in 2 years since buying bluetooth headphones. Have also bought a cheaper bluetooth headphone I have set to change up, but that may have a different theme entirely. Also had another great craft night call with the other forgers that gave me a chance to start this project despite our current house move and new house chores. Overall a fun time!
