Night out at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle tonight. This ornate theatre was built in 1837 and so in the same year as Queen Victoria ascended to the throne. The architectural style is very much of that era and still looks hugely impressive today. Capacity of 1,249 making it the second largest theatre in the North East behind the Sunderland Empire (capacity of around 2,000). Legally Blonde was the show and my wife, son, and his female friend throughly enjoyed it! My daughter decided she had better things to do - partying with her friends.
