Delighted my short comedy script, Whinge-A Cup has been selected for this year’s Screenwriting Lab with @catalystintfilmfestival WHINGE (verb) to complain in a childish or annoying way, usually over something unimportant. WHINGE-A CUP - A makeshift award akin to a miniature FA CUP awarded to the one who manages to Whinge the most despite the deterrent of said, WHINGE-A CUP. 🏆 Based on my Dad written as a tribute to him and his quite frankly INSANE inventions. Excited to work alongside Jennifer Davison, Ciaran Hayden & Lena Byrne’s expertise. ✍️ #whinge #cup #comedy #screenwriter #truestory

WFT Member News: Nora Ní Fhlathárta ✨ Congratulations to WFT Ireland member Nora Ní Fhlathárta, whose short script The Bride Andromeda is a finalist at the HorrorHound Film Festival 2026. Blending gothic horror with dark comedy, the project reimagines myth and modern image culture through the story of a woman whose pursuit of perfection leads to a striking transformation. Nora will attend the festival in Cincinnati this March as she continues to develop the project. Nora’s journey into writing has been shaped by resilience and reinvention, and it’s wonderful to see her work gaining international recognition. 👉 The Bride Andromeda is currently seeking a producer and director to bring the project to the next stage. If you’re interested, or know someone who might be a good fit, we encourage you to get in touch!
