Discover Wicklow’s Swifts this Summer.
Join Wicklow County Council for two FREE Walk & Talk events and learn about one of Ireland’s most extraordinary summer visitors – the Swift!
Thursday 21st May | 6:45 – 7:45pm | Arklow Library
Wednesday 10th June | 6:30 –7:30pm | Rathdrum Library
Each event includes a guided walk (weather permitting) to spot Swifts in action, plus a talk on their fascinating lives and the urgent need to protect them. Swifts spend almost their entire lives in the air and return to Wicklow every summer, but their numbers are declining due to loss of nesting sites.
Let’s raise awareness and support biodiversity together. Children are welcome (with an adult). Suitable footwear and clothing recommended.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with nature and see these amazing birds up close.
