I’ve been getting tons of new followers, so let me introduce myself! I’m Monique Haithcock, 42 years old, a Gemini, and the founder of @theautismguide —a parent support service for autism parents & caregivers. Born in Phoenix, AZ, I’ve spent my whole life in San Diego. I’m married to my high school sweetheart of 16 years and a mom of two boys, including a nonspeaking autistic teen. I’m a proud VIETNAMESE mx with Polynesian, Portuguese, Irish and a few more regions. After 14 years in IT, I transitioned to becoming a Certified Integrative Wellness and Life Coach, focusing on parents raising autistic children, caregivers, entrepreneurs, and beyond. Leaving my 9-5 was the best decision; I absolutely love what I do now and it’s incredibly rewarding! I’m super happy and proud of where our journey has led me, though it was not an easy road doing all the work solo. Everything I’ve achieved has required hard work, sleepless nights of research and studying, but most importantly, dedication and LOVE for our community. I love being an inspiration to others, especially parents navigating autism and women entrepreneurs. If I can support someone, I’m making a difference. My advice: you can do ANYTHING you want, at ANYTIME in your life! Whatever makes you happy and brings you joy, JUST DO IT.

For 14 years, Cameron didn’t have a true way to tell us exactly how he wanted to celebrate his birthday— we always relied on intuition. Now, he has a voice and meaningful input, and whatever he wants to do, we genuinely honor it. When I asked him how he felt being at the beach, he spelled, “Relaxed.” 🌊☀️ Thank you Del Mar, CA Do you have a nonspeaking loved one? We love our kids deeply, but sometimes the greatest Mother’s Day gift is rest, relaxation, and uninterrupted laughter. ✨ Happy Mother’s Day. Thank you hubbies for the break! 💐 Sound Bath Healer: @healing_with_hummingbird

This is my dream job - Giving back @theshineprojectfoundation “A Day for Her: Caring for the Caregiver” was a gentle, supportive experience curated for moms of children with special needs. Watching the videos afterward, I felt so much joy and a deep sense of fulfillment knowing we created this space for them. Thank you @alilamareabeachresort for hosting us & to our amazing community partners for helping us enhance the day. Yesterday I had the incredible honor of attending A Day for Her — a beautiful event created for Special Needs Mamas and hosted by The Shine Project Foundation. This time, I wasn’t just attending…I was there as part of the team, standing right beside the mamas, taking it all in with them. It was an experience I’ll never forget. As we head into Mother’s Day, I want to give a huge shoutout to all the mamas who do it all and then some. As children, we are so thankful for you. We don’t always see the hard conversations you have, the battles you fight, or the strength you carry for our health and care — but when we do, it reminds us that we are who we are because of your love. I also felt something deeply personal yesterday. I felt my aunt — my angel — so close to me. This time of year always brings moments where I miss her, and yesterday was one of those days. I know she’s watching over me, and I know she’s proud of the woman I’m becoming and the work I’m doing. This event reminded me of something important: I need to slow down and take the steps to heal my body, soul, and heart. I’ve been through a lot since the end of last year, and this is my year of healing — whatever that looks like. One day at a time. One moment at a time. I’m deeply grateful for the work I get to do and the lessons it continues to teach me. I’ll be sharing more soon as I focus on building a healing and wellness plan that guides me into a stronger, healthier version of myself.

The healing continues…I spread my dad’s ashes by the ocean—exactly where he asked to be. The beach, the piano, the music… it all felt like him. So grateful to my friend @murrayhidary and the @mindtravelmusic team for creating such a beautiful, intentional space and for allowing me to be part of the San Diego team—moments like these mean so much. 🤍 If you need a space to grieve, find purpose, or simply be still—this is it. Join us at the next MindTravel experiences in Del Mar 5/7 & Moonlight Beach 5/10 💐

💙 Autism Awareness Month Spotlight: The Autism Guide 💙 As we step into Autism Awareness Month, I shared that I wanted to highlight businesses in the special needs community who are doing meaningful, heart‑centered work for autistic individuals and their families. Throughout April, I’ll be featuring organizations that provide support, services, and hope — and today’s spotlight is one that means a lot to me personally. 🌟 Community Feature: The Autism Guide 🌟 The Autism Guide is a San Diego Regional Center vendor and also accepts SDP, offering families trusted, compassionate support from the very first moments after an autism diagnosis. Their mission is rooted in empowerment, clarity, and connection — and they walk alongside families every step of the way. I’m grateful to call the founder a very close friend. Over the last few months, we’ve partnered on several projects, and our collaboration has become something truly meaningful for both of us. As a mom to a nonverbal child with autism, she brings lived experience, strength, and deep understanding to every family she serves. She knows firsthand what it’s like to navigate the journey — and she has turned that experience into purpose. 💡 What makes The Autism Guide stand out: • Vendor‑approved services through the San Diego Regional Center • Step‑by‑step guidance from the moment of diagnosis • Support for caregiver wellness and family connection • Compassionate navigation of programs, services, and next steps • A mission grounded in inclusion, empowerment, and community Families deserve clear pathways, supportive guidance, and people who truly understand. The Autism Guide is here to provide exactly that — with heart, with knowledge, and with unwavering commitment. 💙 I’m honored to feature them this month and to celebrate the incredible work they’re doing for our autism community. #theautismguide #autismsupport #autismawarenessmonth #autismawareness & #wellnesscaregiversupport
