Redline is cultural distortion.
When sounds, subgenres and visuals are pushed to their conceptual limits, they distort, creating cultural artefacts. Those artefacts are the source of Redline.
The old gatekeepers cling onto their halcyon days of dark club corners and sunrise fields, ravers locked in ecstasy. But who does that exclude? Is that the only format of Rave?
Rave is about communion, a shared emotional connection catalysed by audio frequencies. That doesn’t have to happen in a rave, it can happen in a curbside restaurant, on your phone’s FYP, the last row of a rush hour Jeepney ride.
