@rother06 , Jett Plastic is pleased, proud and elated to announce the forthcoming release of “The Emperor Has No Clones” by the
@420funkmob !
Initially, the 420 Funk Mob was the off days project of Mike “Clip” Payne, longtime Parliament-Funkadelic vocalist who’s performed with the collective since 1977. After more than twenty years of assembling tracks and performing, Payne readied the release of this fourteen track album that not only brings the real P-Funk power but immediately sounds just as great as the classic records everyone knows and loves.
To prepare the album, Payne enlisted the help of his friends in the P-Funk tribe, including Mike “Kidd Funkadelic” Hampton, Garry Shider, Lige Curry (
@ligedelic ), Amp Fiddler (
@amp_fiddler RIP), Greg Boyer, Danny Bedrosian (
@dannybedrosian ), and Gabe “Undi$co Kidd” Gonzalez (
@gabegonzalez ). The lineup sports a “who’s who” of funk legends while not sounding cramped in any capacity.
Of course, it couldn’t be a P-Funk record without DR. FUNKENSTEIN GEORGE CLINTON (
@yolikegeorge ), who appears on the album alongside his co-producer role.
We’re honored to finally bring the P-Funk to Jett Plastic and this release is planned as the first in a long line of upcoming funk heavy releases. We know it’s been a while since we’ve released anything, but life gets in the way and, as it turns out, releases take a long time to prepare for. Thank you to Clip (
