Hi! 👋 It’s me - Emma! Thought it was about time I showed my face on here! Swipe to find out a bit more about me. 1️⃣ I’m Emma - the designer, creator and maker behind Wee Inkling. I’m based in Northern Ireland and have been creating stationery for well over 10 years, yet only came onto Instagram a few months ago! 2️⃣ Last year I married by long-term partner up at the North Coast. We had a humanist ceremony led by the incredible @fleurmellorcelebrant and the whole day was captured by the magnificent @paulammcmanus 3️⃣ It’s probably no surprise to hear I’m a foodie! Thankfully the food scene in NI is growing more each year and I’m taking full advantage of that. Check out this awesome plate of grub from my last visit to @oxbelfast 4️⃣ My 2 dogs are my entire life. What even is life without a dog?! This is Coco, an eight year old springer spaniel who fills my heart with so much joy. 5️⃣ Wee Inkling is not my full time job. I actually have a career as a primary school teacher. Surprise, surprise, I’m the arts coordinator! Check out these cute woven Easter baskets my class made last year. 6️⃣ My bank balance quivers when school holidays approach as I love to jet off to any far flung location for another adventure. Here I am in August taking a road trip around the Cape of South Africa. 7️⃣ Winter is not my jam! Give me summer every single day and I’ll be thrilled! Although, in saying that, I’ll not leave the house, even on the greyest of days, without layers of sun cream on! 8️⃣ I’ve been making and creating my entire life. As a child that was always the first comment on every school report! I made this mini canvas of a friend’s wedding bouquet before she immigrated to America over the summer. 9️⃣Finally, I’ve started to consider calligraphy more seriously recently and have been attending courses run by @inkandflowstudio which I am loving every second of. Weddings feel so much more cohesive when your stationery is part of the overall story, not just an afterthought. Think of it as your first glimpse of the wedding vibe: • pull colours from your flowers • repeat textures across signage + tables • echo tones in paper, ink + envelopes • add little illustrated details that feel personal (yes, even your dog counts) It’s all about creating a feeling that quietly says “this is so them” without needing to explain it. Every perfume engraving is drawn freehand and cut into the glass slowly, line by line. It’s a true art form with no templates and no shortcuts, just careful calligraphy lettering that becomes permanent the moment it’s made. Pinterest isn’t the problem…. Saving everything you like without a clear direction is. At some point, inspiration stops helping and starts overwhelming you. Soft spring pastels next to vibrant colour, modern fonts beside romantic script, or minimal layouts mixed with maximalist layered details. Individually, it all works, but together, it just clashes. This is where most couples get stuck. But here’s how to fix it: Start with this one question… What do we want this to feel like? Not look like. Feel like. Refined and elegant? Playful and colourful? Romantic and soft? Choose one direction and commit to it. Then go back to your saved Pinterest boards and edit ruthlessly. If it doesn’t fit, it goes! You don’t need 50 ideas. You need a handful that work together. If you’re not sure how to get there, that’s where I come in.

At some point in wedding planning, everything gets a bit… loud. Too many ideas. Too many saved posts. Too many “wait, I also love this”. And suddenly your “we’re keeping it simple” plan is very much up for discussion! This is my favourite part. Taking all of that noise, calming it right down, and translating it into something that actually makes sense and feels personable to you. It was such an honor to see our pearly blush Elizabeth Crown featured as the crowning touch for this chic bridal look, perfectly complementing the effortless elegance of the gown and the playful and glam stationery. ‘It’s just a place card…’ It’s not though, is it?! Your place cards are one of the first things your guests interact with at the table. They pick them up, turn them over, look a little closer… and suddenly it’s more than just a name. For this design, we created a completely custom pattern using hand-drawn elements, layered with illustrations of the couple’s pets (because of course they deserved a seat at the table too). It’s those kinds of details that take your tables from ‘styled’ to thoughtfully designed. They spark conversation, they feel personal, and more often than not… guests take them home. When your stationery is bespoke, nothing needs to be generic. Every detail can reflect you, right down to the smallest piece on the table. So no, it’s not just a place card.
