On December 16, we got to see one of our favourite artists of all time @mslaurynhill . It was the 50th anniversary of Bob Marley’s legendary performance at Massey Hall. Watching one of Black music’s greatest writers, singers and performers grace the stage with a stacked band, dancers and additional vocalists left us feeling grateful and inspired. But when we got to meet her after the show, we were starstruck and so incredibly shocked. We were grateful to Ms. Hill for giving us her all for over 25 years. It was only right we had the chance to give her her flowers 💐 Thank you to our amazing manager @_mariaescamilla for giving us the opportunity to share the stage with a legend that night. This moment will forever be engrained in our hearts ♥️

The duo consists of Truss (music producer on television show Sort Of) and Phoenix Pagliacci (featured artist on rapper Shad’s album TAO). Their collective sound was introduced to the world in 2017 with the release of their self-titled EP, TRP.P. Since then, their unique voices and clever lyricism have continued to add a modern twist to their 80’s/90’s inspired repertoire. TRP.P’s captivating and playful energy on stage has taken them across the country, performing at festivals such as Toronto Pride, POP! Montreal, Wavelength, Hillside and Soundtrack Fest. It has also taken them around the world, hitting stages in Brazil, France and the Netherlands, and given them a chance to open for superstars such as Kehlani, Ashanti, TI and Nelly. The duo is heavily inspired by Black singer/songwriters, both old and new, including favourites Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Lauryn Hill, Jazmine Sullivan, Ari Lennox and NAO. Whether in the studio or on the stage, TRP.P is determined to connect with others through their songwriting; TRP.P gains inspiration from the world around them, writing music based on their hopes, their dreams and their personal experiences. Happy 6 year anniversary to our first album “2TRP.P” 🥳🥳 we were babies, but we had the music, and we had each other. One of our favourite singles, “Chakra Con”, has become a cult classic. We love seeing people gravitate towards a song that shows the blend of our personalities so well. Thank you so much for all the love on this project. Last weekend we played a show at the magic hour of dusk. I don’t think we can ever not play at dusk again. It’s on the rider now.
