A few days ago at Iron Maiden's movie premiere, I had the immense privilege of meeting and talking with @warwick_presenter , who has been a major influence for years. Through her work with MTV Europe and Headbangers Ball, Vanessa Warwick and her team helped define what many of us consider the golden era of music television. They shaped the way interviews, documentaries and live footage were produced, making them modern, engaging, and truly connected to the scene. More than any other media at the time, they kept that world alive, vivid, and accessible. Unknowingly, that work deeply influenced my own professional path in directing and producing content for bands and artists. Meeting her was an absolute highlight. I was simply grateful to tell her how essential her work had been in shaping my own path and my musical universe, as it was for millions of viewers across Europe. We were even lucky enough to include a sequence from one of her iconic 1997 W.A.S.P. interviews in our movie 'Chris Holmes: Mean Man'. Last night I joined Raven Records for a special edition of their Heavy Metal Therapy “Be Reyt” support group, which featured a panel discussion followed by Q & A. The panel disccused how heavy metal and the wider alternative community can support individuals through challenging times, drawing on both personal experiences and broader perspectives around connection, identity, and recovery. We also shared our tips for maintaining good mental health, as well as discussing such topics as grief and shame and how to cope with them. The event was a collab between @ravenrecords_camden and @heavymetaltherapy and we were fortunate to have Hal on the panel, who is a trained therapist. Please note this was a peer support group and not a clinical mental health service. Please let me know your thoughts on the topics we discussed.

Interview with James Neeson @jamesneesonauthor , Author of "Mental Health for Metalheads: Rock Your Way to Wellbeing". As some of you know, mental health is a topic close to my heart, so I was so pleased to be able to talk to James about his mental health struggles that led to him writing this book specifically for metalheads. Iron Maiden "Burning Ambition" Film Premiere - London 5th May 2026 Join me for a front row view of the @ironmaiden world-wide premiere of their career spanning documentary film, "Burning Ambition".
