If you’ll be in Los Angeles this weekend you should definitely come to @comicartsla , the comics festival I help co-organize! It’s open to all, it’s free, it’s community centered, it’s supporting artists doing the thing they love. I designed this year’s limited tote bag too, printed by the lovely @residencymerch so come get one at the show! Hope to see some of you this weekend 💙 Comic Arts LA December 13-14th 10AM-5PM 3000 Dolores St. LA, CA 90065

Hey everyone! Just popping in here to let you know I’m doing a limited batch of original gift drawings for the holidays. Each piece is 9”x12”, inked, and consists of a character of your choice from one of my books. Limit 3 per person. Drawings are $200 each with $25 from each purchase going to @feedingamerica . Buyer pays for shipping. Sadly I have to limit to US and Canada for now. I haven’t done anything like this in maybe 10(?) years or so and will be limiting drawings to about 25, so click the link in my bio now to sign up! Will ship by Dec 15th. I’m not On Here on the gram much but thank you to everyone who’s read, bought, or shared my books this past year. Appreciate it always. 💙

Hey! Dropping in to mention I’ll be at WonderCon on Friday and Saturday March 28th-29th. I’ll be on the panels “Keep Bans Off Our Books” and “Close Look At Graphic Novels” and will be signing books after. If you’re attending WonderCon and have books from home you want me to sign, I’m always happy to do those too! I have a few more events in April in both the Bay Area and SoCal so look for those soon.

Cleaning out your bookshelf before the holidays? Got any YA and Middle Grade graphic novels or manga you’re ready to pass on? With the return of @comicartsla we are also bringing back the Comics Drive! This year we are donating books to Los Angeles Unified School District middle school libraries. LAUSD middle schools serve over 50k students cross the Los Angeles area, many that may not have much access to books at home but love comics. We will also be donating some books to @heavymannerslibrary a local lending library for art books and zines. If you have books in GOOD USED CONDITION you’d like to donate, please bring them to @comicartsla December 14-15th and drop them off in our donation area!

In case you’re an LA local that doesn’t follow @comicartsla , did you know that CALA IS BACK?? 5 years ago we had our last show in December 2019. Many life and world changing events later we are finally back next weekend December 14-15th, 2024. Funnily enough, it’ll also be the 10th anniversary of our very first show in 2014. It’s been a long journey and we are really excited to have our community gathering in person in the same place again. If you enjoy independent comics, zines, and art, please come check out the show, participate in our workshops and panels, reconnect with old friends and meet some new folks. Spread the word and see you very soon! 💙 [Sidebar: As usual I will not be promoting my works at this show, but if you happen to catch me I am more than happy to sign any books and chat for a bit!]

Hi! Some of you know I’m a regular volunteer with @selahnhc , a local aid organization in my LA neighborhood that works with homeless and housing-insecure individuals. SELAH provides outreach and weekly programs that offer basic meals, aid, hygiene kits, access to mail and help with admin services that are often difficult to obtain for those without consistent shelter. Recently fellow volunteer Kelsey and I (but mostly design-savvy Kelsey) made some merch to help fundraise for SELAH programs, including a tote bag by yours truly. Those in LA can follow the merch link in my linktree to purchase. Currently only available for local pick-up only unfortunately!! But once shipping options are available I will definitely update. For everyone else outside of LA who wants to chip in some money to SELAH for the winter season, please follow the link in the linktree in my bio to donate. The winter season is a big one for purchasing extra warm hats, gloves, socks, and rain ponchos. Much appreciation to everyone supporting your local mutual aid groups this week. ❤️

ASH’S CABIN is out today! This book spanned a strange couple years of my life with a lot of big changes, but it also speaks very truthfully to a young version of myself that felt a little too weird and alienated in everyday life and wondered what it would take to create a new world just for myself. It was an emotional book for me to create and I hope it connects to some readers who have felt/feel this way. If you haven’t preordered already, please look for it at your local indie bookstore! ⛰️❤️
