GROW ID: speckled buff earthenware hands signing GROW in American Sign Language with an arrowhead philodendron plant sprouting through the hands. An homage to my Lao ancestors and Deaf culture. Combing my affinity for language, culture, and nature, my hands are positioned to sign the word GROW in ASL while referencing the style of Buddhist mudras. Hyper-flexed fingers are a common attribute in southeast Asian cultures, and can be seen in cultural dances such as the lamvong, which incorporates a system of hand gestures to symbolize the cycle of nature. I’m so excited to share that I will be teaching a beginner friendly ceramics workshop @pot_studio_la in ASL!! With National Deaf History month and Lao New Year coming up, it only makes sense, so sign up! Link in bio! ദ്ദി(˃ ᵕ ˂ ദ്ദി) ✿ #ASL #POT #accessibility #CODA #Deaf

This Pisces season, I gifted my dear friend and mentor Maja, a custom wood sign of his own! Ever since I met Maja, I’ve been blown away by his breadth of art and I feel very lucky to have met him when I did. I met him last year after massive tech layoffs, on my last day of work. That day I decided I’d destress and celebrate being freed from corporate by bar hopping in Echo Park with some friends. Before heading into Bar Flores, I noticed that The Hunt, next door, was hosting an art exhibit. I remember when The Hunt was the Buy & Save discount store and I was curious to see what it had become now. Upon my pleasant surprise, I saw beautiful oil paintings of scenes of Echo Park. Then I saw Maja tabling. We instantly connected over our shared Ecuadorian heritage and interest in furniture design and art. Now, I am apprenticing for Maja and learning so much more about the art world and what it means to be an artist. He’s also connected me with so many lovely people - like Patricia the with the purple hair - who inspire me and motivate me to keep creating ·˖✶ Maja Designs engraved on Basswood 8”x3” #m1ultra #basswood #customlaserengraving

lol ik so late but wanted to share these still! Thank you @pot_studio_la for letting my partner and I vend on Valentine’s Day! We have so much love for the studio and we were so happy to see all the love at da studio <3 First time vending Empanadas de Viento aka de queso - and so glad to say I sold out! 🇪🇨 We also served Rose Oolong Milk tea which paired perfectly with the cheese empanadas! ⟡♡₊˚ 𝓕𝓾𝓷 𝓕𝓵𝓪𝓿𝓸𝓻 𝓕𝓪𝓬𝓽: The rose, native to Iran, is a natural mild laxative that reduces stress and inflammation, while aiding in digestion and depression! Perfect if you’re lactose intolerant like Jerry is lol (ദ്ദി ๑>؂•̀๑)

𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝓭𝓮𝓽𝓪𝓲𝓵𝓼 𝓯𝓻𝓸𝓶 𝓐 𝓢𝓮𝓷𝓼𝓸𝓻𝔂 𝓢𝓾𝓹𝓹𝓮𝓻 𝓒𝓵𝓾𝓫… In this lifetime, I wanna continue to do whatever calls me. Now, I’m not sure what I mean by that totally. But since graduating, moving coast to coast, being laid off and going back to school, I’ve done a lot of thinking about how I could merge my passions in a way that makes sense while on this Earth. Cuz I do a lot of things! And tbh I don’t know how to focus on one thing (maybe it’s undiagnosed ADHD, but who doesn’t struggle to focus in this day n age?) So I decided to focus on a supper club w my friends because this embodies EVERYTHING. My love for food, art, crafting, music, friendship! 𓊆ྀི❤︎𓊇ྀི But another element that I will never waiver on, is my desire for accessibility. I want to build magical experiences that engage the five senses - regardless if you have all of them or not. And much like Chimborazo in Ecuador, one of the tallest mountains with the closest point to the sun, we’re reaching for the stars ·˖✶ So we’re reimagining supper - cuz what if it was our last? ─ .✦ #supperclub #art #food #music #love

Finally, pt.2 of making stamps for Angelica to test and give me feedback on! I wanna make sure these stamps work well with clay before I really start promoting them, because good design is intuitive design! Thanks for listening to my little spiel nerding out on architecture, engineering, and laser cutting. ദ്ദി(˶⎚⤙⎚˶) #xtools #lasercutting #engineering @xtool.official #diy

Pt.1 of making a stamp for @ayquelindaceramica ! Ever since being laid off back in August, I’ve had a lot more time to experiment with my M1 Ultra 4-in-1 laser cutter. I’m an engineer at heart, so research and dev is a must for me. I’m also a Capricorn moon, so perfectionism may be the death of me. This new year I’m deciding to focus on my progress and not perfection. I’m really excited to share some of what I’ve been working on, and what I’ve learned. Stay tuned! ૮₍ • ˕ - ₎ა♡₊˚ #xtool #m1ultra @xtool.official #crafts #tools #diy

We started with fruit tables + art 🍓 Now we’ve grown into a full sensory supper party. Food has always been central to culture. It’s memory. It’s medicine. It’s identity. You are what you eat, right? This evening is inspired by Andean pre-colonial + colonial traditions from farmers burning their last crops as offerings to the Earth, to the ritual burning of sickness and harm brought through colonization. From that collision, a new tradition was born. We’re gathering to honor that lineage, celebrate the new year, and share food, music, fire, and intention together. More music. A full spread. An intimate table under the sky. If you loved the fruit spread… just imagine the food. 🔥🍽️✨ Sounds by: @sabrinarose.sabs & @serena.in.the.sun Ritual building and burning led by @vstemsstudio and @izinfinite Secret location 📍 Link in bio Dress code: Hues of Fire, Mythical, whimsical, elemental Flyer design by: @izinfinite.design #supperclub #indigenous #experiential
