A short film animated on old footage from a previous short film. Animation by Visual Magic and all the incredible talents in Skellefteå!
I had so much fun writing, directing, producing, doing the voice-over, motion-capture acting, editing, foley, and much more. I also played the live-action character Jenny in the original film. I chose to record the voice-over in the three languages I speak: English, Swedish, and Norwegian—but with two very different accents in Norwegian. So there are four versions of the 3.30min film and four versions of a 60sec film created specifically for a competition for 60sec films. The films will be sent to festivals and more.
As I had the pleasure of working with Visual Magic on my previous film “She Grew Up at Midnight,” I jumped at the opportunity to create another project with them. I didn’t have the time or budget to film new material and thought: Why not use what I’ve got to create a whole new short film using shots from “Pizza Boy,” adding this new character, and making it all make sense with the live-action footage and adding a new voice-over script to complete the new story.
Martin Steinberg graded the original film, which had a very different color palette, and I went back to him and asked if he would want to work ”against” the film’s original look and create an entirely new color grade. I’m so grateful to everyone who wanted to work with me on this one!

- This film was created on already exciting moving images originally used for my previous film ”Pizza Boy”. Filmed by @harismlivic_dp . When collaborating with Visual Magic I thought it would be cool to create a completely new film and story out of exciting material due to limited timeframe and budget. Colorist Martin Steinberg graded both ”Pizza Boy” and I went back to him and asked him to defy the original look and create a new color in pastell to make it look like a new and different film. This was fun!

My school Visual Magic had the pleasure on collaborating with @jeanettespedal on her new short film @jeanettespedal_productions 🔥For this shot, Jeanett asked for fire in the middle of the room and with some fire climbing up on the red dress behind the flowers and a slow zoom. To make everything as realistic as possible, I rotoscoped all the flowers on different layers and placed them on 3D cards and then placed the cards accordingly. I photoshoped all the layers so that, when zooming in, no flowers are still on the wrong layer. I am still a beginner in compositing so this shot is nowhere near perfect but I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out.
