Eleverna har genomfört sin utbildning vid Visual Magics VFX-utbildning och kommer att presentera sina projekt i arenan på campus Skellefteå. Detta är en möjlighet för företag och allmänheten att få en inblick i framtidens VFX-talanger och deras kreativa arbeten. Kom och upplev innovation, kreativitet och teknisk skicklighet på nära håll. Recently, some of our students at Visual Magic, had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Snowcastle to create a cinematic that showcases the E2 concept. They shared early concepts and in-game footage with us, which inspired the students to develop an idea for a video based on that. Meet Michael Tiedtke, a former student of the Visual Magic VFX program who now works at Stiller Studios in Stockholm. He juggles many responsibilities, and during his time at VM, Michael won the Rookie Awards for ”Film of the Year - Highly Commended” with his short film ”Stiff,” which was his student project. During the Global Game Jam in Jörn, Maria and Karim Sahai paid a visit. For a few weeks, they have been guest lecturers and speakers at the Visual Magic VFX program, where they have conducted courses in Houdini, among other things. On January 26-28, the Borderless Game Academy project, funded by Interreg Aurora, teamed up with students from Novia UAS and Visual Magic. The Swedish team gathered in Jörn, and the Finnish counterparts were stationed in Jakobstad and Vaasa. With approximately 160 participants joining in, the Global Game Jam was an inclusive event for all. Meet Matilda Isaksson, a Visual Magics’ VFX program alum. Currently working remotely from her home in Medle, about 10 km from Skellefteå, she’s part of Filmlance, a VFX company based in Stockholm. Her recent work includes contributions to notable Swedish film productions, such as ’Hammarskjöld.’ 🎬 While the journey has its challenges, Matilda continues to navigate the world of visual effects. For the next six weeks, Visual Magic’s VFX training program is honoured to host Maria Sahai, FX artist and trainer, and Karim Sahai, a VFX supervisor. They are co-owners of visual effects studio, VFX Mojo. With more than 50 feature films and television series under their belt (The Lord of The Rings, Avatar, Shazam…), including their recent involvement in the highly anticipated ”Dune: Part Two” set for a global premiere on March 1st, their visit brings an added layer of prestige to the training they will be conducting. During this intensive training period, students at Visual Magic will delve into the essentials of digital simulations using Houdini and Nuke software, advancing their expertise in mastering intricate effects employed in feature films, television series and games production. With a history of designing and conducting training programs for artists throughout Asia Norway and France, Karim and Maria Sahai have identified Visual Magic as one of the premier schools in Sweden and Scandinavia. Maria notes: ”We admire Visual Magic’s commitment to providing students with top-tier educators, a well-structured program, and a host of industry connections’’.
