From June to September, we’re celebrating the sounds that make up our city - from some of the UK’s biggest live music acts to the quiet places in the city where you can find moments of connection.

Before & After ✨
A piece of Gloucester’s history has been successfully restored thanks to the hard work of several heritage organisations working together!
The Pin Factory Annexe, located in the courtyard of @thefolkofgloucester is an important part of Gloucester’s pin manufacturing history. In January of this year, work began to restore its façade to its original state and re-bed the historic glass windowpanes in era-appropriate frames and now the work is complete!

A quick walk through Kings Square and Eastgate Shopping Centre took us to Meanwhile Gallery, where Kelly O’Brien’s ‘No Rest for the Wicked’ has repurposed a previously empty shop into a free exhibition full of detail, humour, and lived experience.
Whilst there we met Tom @nettlemouth , an invigilator and local musician, who shared stories behind the work that added another creative layer to the visit.
Meanwhile Gallery is part of a year-long programme bringing contemporary art into Gloucester’s empty spaces, creating new ways for artists, locals, and visitors to connect, and very much worth a visit for anyone curious.
The gallery is part of @gasp.projects , who co-curate contemporary art exhibitions and events with the people of Gloucester.
The exhibition is open for another 3 days, so take a stroll on your lunch break and see something new.

PSA Gloucester’s first and only rooftop bar is now open👏🏼. @crimsonspiregloucester located on the 5th floor of @hotelindigogloucester offers panoramic views of the city scape all whilst you can enjoy the expertly crafted cocktails and enjoy their street food menu 😍.

- Cathedral. Aperol, Cotswold Gin, Sweet Vermouth & OJ
- Bubbles & Tea. Bottega Sparkling White 0%, Thyme, Rose Syrup & Lemon
- French 75. Dry gin, Champagne, Lemon & Sugar Syrup
- The Mousetrap. Apple juice, Trip, CBD Ginger & Peach & Sugar Syrup
Food;
- Crispy Korean Chicken Bao
- Popcorn Shrimp Bao
- Spicy Corn Ribs with Chipotle mayo
- Crab Cakes. Chive mayo, burnt lime
- Salt & Pepper Calamari with Cocktail sauce
- Seasoned Fries with Rosemary & salt
The decor is really cute with the retro glam vibe and overall providing a nice setting and ambiance to the whole bar. Cocktails were good. We liked the variation of mocktails which sometimes lacks imagination but the choice was good! Food wise was overall well received. Only criticism I had was that there wasn’t enough filling in the baos so ratios were off for me 😅.
Definitely one to check out if you’re looking for a good bar spot in the city! 👏🏼

This is an opportunity to tell the story of some of Gloucester’s most renowned characters. There is also the chance to explore your own family history and discover stories yet to be told!

‘Gentle, Angry Women’ documentary will be shown at The Folk of Gloucester on the 15 May as part of their ‘Protest!’ events!
It is the latest documentary film by award-winning Cornish film company Awen Productions. The story follows three young women as they retrace the march to Greenham Common, forty years on from the first Women’s Peace Protests.
These screenings are part of ‘Protest!’, a community programme of events by the The Folk of Gloucester and Voices of Gloucester to commemorate 100 years since the General Strike.

You will get the chance to climb 269 steps to the top of Gloucester's most iconic landmark and enjoy breath taking views of 40 miles over the countryside, and will get behind the scenes access to ancient roof spaces and see the largest medieval bell in Britain that is still in use!
