After more than a decade away, the iconic Glamorama is finally back and it brought all the fashion, music, creativity, and over the top spectacle with it. What started as a charity fashion event in the early 90s somehow turned into a giant millennial dance party with performances from @crystalwaters , @cecepeniston and Robyn S singing the most iconic 90s songs. My nostalgic little heart was LIVING and I’m still sore. But the most meaningful part of the night was hearing the stories of some incredibly brave kids and seeing how every look, performance, and strut down the runway helped support the @childrenscancer research fund. A glamorous night out with a genuinely beautiful purpose and the best comeback for the Twin Cities! Thank you @grantwcreative and everyone involved for such a special night.

Getting to attend Glamorama again felt incredibly special, especially knowing it all supports the Children’s Cancer Research Fund and the life-changing work they continue to do for children and families facing pediatric cancer. Philanthropy that blends creativity, community, and real impact has always felt deeply aligned with my values. There is something powerful about seeing fashion and entertainment used as a platform to fund research, create hope, and support children and families navigating unimaginable circumstances. It makes the glitz and glamour feel meaningful in a completely different way. A decade ago, Coco and I went to Glamorama together when it was still in its original era. Friday felt like stepping back into that time again. Evening wear, old memories, and one of my favorite people beside me for it all. Fashion with purpose will always be my favorite combination.

The way history is set up, so many folks don’t know about Black people and the Kentucky Derby. For example, Oliver Lewis, a Black jockey won the first ever Kentucky Derby in the late 1800s. And with the fashion, Black people gave what needed to be gave in protest against the removal of Black jockeys and their relegation to the stables. I’m glad I attended my first Derby Party and look forward to seeing more of us take up more space. #derby #blackhistory #fyp #thingstodomsp #mnevents
