Christmas in a Yoruba home is a full experience. Food on fire, noise everywhere, people talking over each other, and that one big aunty watching everything to make sure nothing goes wrong. There’s also that one child always running errands, always distracted… and somehow always present when a plate breaks. That child was me. This is close to home because this is exactly how I remember Christmas, loud, fun, chaotic, and full of love. @orijin_nigeria fits into moments like this naturally, sitting right between the food, the stories, and the laughter. There’s a special kind of joy when an Nwa boy comes home after a long time, especially at Christmas. That moment when the compound is full, the sound of ogene fills the air, food is cooking, and you remember exactly where you’re from. This spot is my love letter to the Igbo culture, to the bold colours, real people, and honest moments. And right at the centre of it all is Orijin bringing the celebration alive, cold in hand, shared in laughter, and woven naturally into the gathering. We pulled this off in a very short period of time with a team that understood the assignment from day one. Proud to have directed this for @orijin_nigeria 1 of 2 spots from this campaign. Our session with @villageboygram was one of those classes that stays with you long after it ends. He didn’t just teach us how to turn ideas into good visuals, he helped us understand why visuals matter in the first place. he showed us how to see better, listen to the idea, and then build something intentional, honest, and visually true.
