Friends! I’m proud to have been part of this powerful and hilarious film, ZEKE - written and directed by Kerry Coddett (@overfab ) and produced by @grandmas.haus . The film stars Hassan Johnson (@hinikoj ) (The Wire, Flatbush Misdemeanors), Stephen Cofield, Jr. (@stephencofieldjr ) (Terrifier 3, Harlem), Sam Jay (@samjaycomic ) (SNL, Pause w/ Sam Jay), and Kerry Coddett (@overfab ) (Ramy, Flatbush Misdemeanors). We had an amazing sold-out screening at the American Black Film Festival, and the response reminded us just how important stories like this are. This isn’t just a short film, it’s a conversation starter meant to challenge the viewer and encourage reflection in our communities. Making you laugh while doing so! Now the team is launching the fundraising campaign to help take ZEKE to more screens and to continue to tell stories for us. It’s hard to express how caring and joyful and weird and smart the @howtojohnwilson team was. I only got to do the last season 🥲 but the people who created and nurtured this show - I am constantly in awe of what they pulled off, what the AEs and other editors were able to do. The vision of @peepingjohn @clarkfilio @michael.koman @relterskelter @oksaywhen @gemininaim and everyone else I haven’t even met. Everyone who touched the show (besides burning man) came away feeling like a part of the magic. I will miss this show! **oh and most importantly, good work @nycmayor @madein_ny on the subway ad. 🗽

Probably the weirdest place I’ve been in the USA. Jerry Lee Lewis is remarkable for many reasons, but here are some - his father was jailed for moonshining in the 1930s, he married his cousin when she was 13 - effectively kidnapping and raping her and consequently ruining his career, his 4th and 5th wives both died under mysterious circumstances (see Rolling Stone article about Shawn Lewis), he ran his Lincoln Continental into the gates of Graceland in an attempt to murder Elvis, he shot his base player, and his sister Frankie kept this bizarre, dense and wonderful museum, run now by his very sweet nieces. Oh and he was real good at piano. ****also you get into the museum via a drive-thru liquor store
