Thrilled to share that my project THE GHOST WEDDING (which I co-wrote with my partner @patrick.boyd.3910 ) has been selected out of 1000 submissions for the inaugural #BayList ! So excited to be a part of this new collaboration between @theblcklst , @rafaelcasal and other incredible Bay Area partners! It was *only* 13 years ago that I joined an amazing community of filmmakers called ScaryCow and started volunteering on short film sets in San Francisco, where I first learned about how movies are made. It’s been a long road, and it would truly be a dream come true to bring this project to the bay!

Super excited to share the news that “Foreign Uncle” is now screening on The New Yorker!!! Link to the article and film in my bio. Almost 4 years ago, I set out to make a very personal film about my family, with my family. Our relationship evolved a lot over the years, and now I am truly grateful to have this film as a time capsule that I can always look back on with warmth in my heart. Almost one year ago, it premiered at @psfilmfest and since then we've had a whirlwind journey with the film. As a tote bag-carrying subscriber of The New Yorker for years, it is beyond my wildest imagination that this would be the platform that we share the film with the world. Thank you to the team at @newyorkermag for giving us this opportunity! Very honored to have this film released during the Pride Month. Hopefully, it will serve as a reminder that acceptance is worth fighting for. Special shoutout to @yyinuoshi for writing the wonderful article introducing the film! Flew two circles of the globe in the past few weeks, and it’s all for verticals!! Had a great time at the Hong Kong FilmMart this past week. Grateful to be able to share what we do in this fast growing space. Also had the honor to meet so many industry heavyweights, including Ms. Zhao Yifang and Ms. Fu Binxing from Huace Group, Mr. Bennet Pozil from East West Bank, veteran film producer Wan Jun, and so many more. Really grateful for the opportunities, and excited to keep riding this wave! 🏄‍♀️

And that’s a wrap on my first international production! What an incredible experience filming in Turkey thanks to this group of amazing people I now get to call friends! The history, the culture, the charm, the people … annnd THE CATS!!! 🐈 🐈‍⬛ Istanbul is such a magical city that is full of life, a city I wish to come back again and again!

The last two days have been crazy, and I’m not talking about the rain! Truly a humbling experience to share the stage with such remarkable industry experts and offer my two cents on the booming short-drama industry at AFM and UCLA, while learning so much from leaders like Bennett Pozil and Hernan Lopez!! Thank you to Leo Liu for the invitation. Grateful for the insightful conversations with Prof. Michael Berry of UCLA, Prof. George Huang of our own UCLA TFT @ucla_tft , Luna Zhang, and my fellow panelists. 2025 was the year short drama revenues surpassed the box office in China. Like it or not, the question isn’t if short drama is here to stay — it’s what it will grow into. As someone who grew up dreaming of making films, I’ll admit I have a lot of conflicting feelings. But I’m genuinely grateful to be learning and evolving with this new way of telling stories. Above all I’m grateful for the opportunities the short drama industry has created for people like me starting out with their careers. I can’t wait to see what people will do next with the format!!!

THE GHOST WEDDING, a horror script @patrick.boyd.3910 and I wrote together, is 1 of the 3 featured scripts for June on The Black List! We poured so much heart into crafting the story and the characters. But more importantly, as two horror film fanatics, we also wanted to write something that is SCARY!
