Finally figured out how to Regram an Instagram post! Anyway, the whole journey of @foreignuncle has been such a crazy ride. For years and for various reasons, I’ve always felt like I’ve had one foot still in the closet. I’ve never really known how to properly “come out.” I guess I wanted everyone around me to just intuit my sexuality. With this film though, I truly learned the power of how art can challenge and help one grow in their personal journey. Acting as myself was scary because I had to confront myself, which is what I needed at the time, even if I didn’t realize it then. I’m so happy this film has found an audience and hopefully it can help people in some way, even if it’s just to brighten their day. I’m also so happy that moment is frozen in time and I got to make something with someone whose artistry I admire so deeply @victimx #thenewyorker #pridemonth #film

Halfway through reading Dostoevsky’s oeuvre and not to be hyperbolic but Notes from Underground changed me. Possibly a lot. A truly perfect, strange, bizarre, twisted and humorous gem. Will be revisiting this one a lot.#books #read #literature #bookstagram #writing

The past few months I’ve been hard at work on a novel and today finally finished the first draft. During the pandemic, I tried to write one but I had no idea what I was doing and it was truly a training wheels ish experience. This time my goal was to just get to the end no matter what—a thing I’ve tried to use as a guiding principle in artistic endeavors the past year and something I’ve struggled with in the past. And also stay consistent in what I wanted to say. The novel is a great way to conquer self-doubt or at least it was for me. Onto the second draft but first a drink and then a nap.
