It’s been a minute since we posted
@viciousmo ’s G80 lol. This time around, he upgraded the fuel system to get ready for a
@rkautowerks single turbo kit. While doing the install, we realized we’d never posted a dyno comparison between port injection and the stock direct injection setup on a stock turbo S58—so we figured this was the perfect time!
Previously, this car made 706whp / 672wtq on the stock fuel system with an E45-50 mix—pretty typical numbers on our Dynojet. With PI installed and the fuel mixed to about E65, it picked up a bunch of midrange power and a bit up top, peaking at 730whp / 725wtq!
So why the “lower” numbers compared to other similar setups we’ve posted from remote dyno tunes (750+whp)? Not all dynos read the same, and dyno room conditions—like airflow and cooling—can make a big difference. Don’t get too caught up in peak numbers, look at the gains versus the baseline. We posted the stock dyno from when Mo first picked up the car, so you can see the full progression. This M3 is now putting down 270whp / 268wtq more than stock! 😮💨
