This weekend: Still lifes, seascapes, lino prints, cakes, tea & soft drinks, conversation, friendly atmosphere, wonderful view from balcony, Artists Gina Ludlow & Henny Lees are super-talented and it is always a pleasure to share their company. This weekend. I'll be there Saturday early afternoon. This is my absolute highlight!

I want to heartily recommend the open studio event below. Held in London it happens yearly on two weekends in May and each year I make the trip up from Hastings to visit. Artists Gina Ludlow and Henny Lees display their artwork, turning Gina's flat into an art gallery, turning the kitchen into a wonderful cafe with delicious home-made cakes - profits for cakes to RNLI. And they are truly delicious. The entire experience is well worth the climb up four flights of steps. At the top there is a wonderful view over London. Why do I go every year? Because I find these two women inspirational - although Gina will probably cringe at my writing that - the atmosphere is so friendly. You don't have to buy though I always do - but you can sit, converse, eat cake, drink tea or cold drinks, look at the work on the walls. Just thinking about visiting on Saturday makes me quite emotional - I promise you - the experience is good for the spirit. AD-PR Product My thoughts Oh wow. This book is such a great read. I couldn’t put it down. This was one of those books that is so twisty and twisted that once you see aspects, or shadows of the characters you’re not quite sure where they will take you. This is dark, clever and shows so many different parts to every character that it’s impossible to not want to race to the end. The whole book manages to keep up a brilliant sense of dread that you don’t feel prepared for in any way, but it makes it all the more a compulsive read for it. It’s made clear the complex and rotten relationships between some of the characters from the outset and I found it so engrossing, yet repulsive and fascinating, due to their treatment of one another. It highlights how damaged and damaging people can be to one another while having a relationship of kinds with them. I’ve not read a VG Lee book before but going on this I will be reading more from this very talented writer as this kept me reading until the small hours to finish it and know what happened to everyone.
