Been traveling with family and took a little long to post about something a little massive for me 😅 very humbling to have a part of my set recording at @oilclub_official featured on @ben___ufo ‘s Hessle Audio show this month, sharing the airwaves with @sunpeople_official ‘s amazing selections. In prep for my closing set after @ben___ufo , I thought about how to use my time to present a coherent narrative for the audience, tying up elements from the three artists that played before me, but also interpret these elements in my own way. I knew I wanted to play a few rhythm heavy uk influenced tracks for this night, given this lineup and Oil’s fantastic sound system, but I also wanted to see how many surprising turns I could sneak in there. On the night when I went on stage I felt so relaxed, because surely everyone, me included, had already danced their ass off after a night of @knopha , @yusu_suyu and Ben UFO. My knees were barely hanging on after Ben’s 3hr set. His selections were undeniably groovy. So many tracks I actually wouldn’t have liked otherwise were so convincingly contextualized for me. I just felt like I could be myself. I still feel embarrassed openly talking about DJing in depth, because there are just so many people that are more knowledgeable than me! Introducing @studio.ruo , my art practice in glass. Under the new practice I am known as Ruo. Ruo is part of my Chinese first name - 若琼ruò qióng. Together the two characters mean jade-like. It wasn’t until months into studying glass that I learned glass was used in ancient China to imitate jade. ♾️ I completed a Diploma of Visual Art Glasswork at Melb Poly over 9 months in 2025. I practiced many cold and warm glass techniques, where I thoroughly enjoyed thinking and doing art and science all at the same time. In 2026, I will be participating in the Craft Victoria Fresh Fellowship program for emerging artists. I’m so excited to grow this practice. Whatever happened to throwback thursdays lol. Here to say thanks for listening to the recording of my set at the re:send stage for un:send on 31 December, 2025. I have loved hearing about the different experiences people had to this set 💛 Crazy weather for the last day of 2025. Relentless gusts of wind slapping everyone in the face with the occasional dust devils swirling around the grounds. Stage manager Benson at times swepted thick dust off of equipment like archaeologist at an excavation site. The sky was clear for the most part. But it was still too cold for a dip in the little pond. I played a lot to the wind, the sun, the ripples on the water and to the feeling for an end and a new beginning. Puffy faced me and @gross_margins had a photoshoot one morning at @minh.phat.asian.supermarket_ for our B2B set next weekend @forthecause___ . ‘Cube’, 2025 Leaded and fused glass, horseshoe nails. 16x16x5cm 4 December, 2025 - 31 January, 2026. Melbourne Polytechnic Diploma Glasswork Graduation Show. ———————————— Cube recontextualizes the traditional leadlight as a sculptural object. Segmentation, soldered joints, and transparency - elements typically used in leadlighting for decoration and function become perceptual devices, shaping how the viewer experiences space, light, and material. Horseshoe nails, temporary tools used to secure leadlight during fabrication, are left visible as permanent structural supports. Fused glass elements resembling suspended water surrounds the cube’s “exterior”. In posing as a container, Cube invites the viewer to question what it might hold. #leadedglass #kilnformedglass

A new pic and two parties for the weekend 😤 Friday (tonight): my first time at revamped @angelmusicbar ! Playing a 3-hour set upstairs from 10pm to 1am for @pearl.sound__ , before 3 hours of improvised live music by @alex_albrecht_music and @hybrid__man . All night all shades of psychedelia :) Sunday: the BIG lunar new year celebration @miscellania_ with @thread._____ ! Been reminiscing over teenage nostalgia kpop with my b2b partner @isabelnak__ . un:send <3 More and more I find myself wanting to curate music to the physical elements in an environment, and I was able to do just that here - opening up the whole festival in 35+ degree heat (slide 2 & 3)and then playing to the wind, dust, water and final sunset of the year at the re:send stage (slide 5). Can’t wait to play my 3rd set in a club on 18 Jan @miscellania_ . Feeling so inspired n proud to be part of this community on the tail end of my third year living here, both in music and in values that we uphold. It says so much when almost all the appreciative posts about un:send mention the team behind it. When people remember the village that helped make the experience rather than just the brand, it feels like an antidote to the corporatization of festivals and dance music culture. Well done @partydown99 @kiasvs @kasun_ @okegmusic +++ all the volunteers and staff. Can’t wait to watch it grow :)

3 weeks till un:send. So special to play my first Australian doof with such an inspiring crew and roster! I’m stoked to be playing 2 sets over the 3 days. I was trying to find some footage from Australian festivals and I found the last slide of me bopping to the sound of storm while hiding in the tent at the last Inner Varnika haha. Classic doof experience. Thanks for all the hard work @partydown99 @kiasvs @kasun_ and the rest of crew. Thank you especially to @kiasvs and @partydown99 who were my early supporters in Melbourne, having me on Animix and my first club gig here at Misc, both have since opened so many doors for me as a new face in town. When @partydown99 asked me to contribute a tape for @papercutsltd back in 2024, I spent quite some time thinking about the intention behind a cassette mix. What meaningful context can I add to these music that other people have created? It’s clear to me that DJing is not about declaring an expertise in music, but rather a commitment to learning (and changing minds) about music over time. Making this tape was a testament to that - DJing can carry as much meaning as I put into it. My tape “Music After Us” is coming this Friday 28 November. With this tape I invite you into a world that exists in the deep future after our extinction. @hildebrandt , @partydown99 and I will extend this world into @tender_place_ for one night on 28 November. There’ll be paper and crayons, so you can add to this collective mythology by drawing your own imagined creatures that exist in this world 🔮🪄✨
