We are heartbroken to share that active Police Service Dog (PSD) Cash recently became critically ill and has passed away. PSD Cash served with distinction as a dedicated VPD Police Service Dog, playing a vital role in protecting the city of Vancouver and supporting frontline policing efforts. For the entirety of his policing life, PSD Cash was a fierce, loyal, and loving partner to Constable Courtney Srigley - the two had an unbreakable bond built on trust, courage, and teamwork. His service stood as a powerful reminder of how essential police service dogs are, bringing specialized skills, unwavering commitment, and life-saving support to every call they answered together.
PSD Cash, born on May 8, 2019, became VPD K9 certified on December 22, 2020 and worked alongside Constable Srigley for the duration of his career. Known for his funny personality and love of being off the ground, PSD Cash could often be found happily chewing his ball or Kong for hours. At home, he enjoyed spending time with his “fur-brothers,” retired VPD Police Service Dog Rhett and a rescued Pit Bull named Bear, bringing the same loyalty and joy to his family life as he did to his work.
Thank you for your service, PSD Cash. You will be missed.

Big lifts. Bigger impact.
The Iron Bulldogs Powerlifting Competition at Eric Hamber Secondary brought students together for a day of challenging themselves, supporting one another, and building confidence alongside VPD School Liaison Officers who are passionate about the sport.
Made possible through donor support, this event is a powerful example of how positive connections and opportunity-building programs help students thrive, on and off the platform, in meanignful ways.

Week 13 - The @vpdcadets cheerfully participated in the Cops for Kids gift wrapping toy drive. In between the festivities, the cadets ran the beep test to further qualify for the athletic award. With the promotion ceremony upon us, the cadets readily prepare with a dry run.
