Mentorship looks different for everyone. 🤝
Whether it’s a teen in Calgary helping a younger student find their voice through literacy, or a PRISM mentor in Atlantic Canada providing a safe space for LGBTQ2S+ youth to feel seen, mentorship is about meeting a child exactly where they are.
We’re proud to walk side-by-side with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada chapters. Having funded 57 unique projects, we’re working to ensure that when a child looks for a leader to follow, someone is there to answer the call.

Mother’s Day is experienced in many different ways.
At @highbankssociety , it’s both a celebration and a recognition of the resilience, growth, and commitment of the young mothers they serve.
Highbanks Society is empowering young moms to overcome barriers and create lasting change through its Young Mother’s Support program, funded by the @TELUS Calgary & Southern Alberta Community Board through our Foundation.
Trauma-informed wraparound supports are provided by Highbanks Society for moms aged 16–24 who are emerging from trauma, homelessness and instability. The program integrates safe, affordable housing as well as education planning, life skills development, mental health services and cultural connection.
Their holistic approach helps young families not only navigate immediate challenges, but move toward stability, confidence, and long-term independence.
This Mother’s Day, we recognize the strength of young mothers who are rewriting their stories and creating new pathways forward for their families. 💜

🎓 @Indspire.ca and the TELUS @FriendlyFutureFoundation are proud to announce a 4-year $500,000 partnership to support Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education. With federal match funding, this partnership represents a total investment set to deliver $1 million to provide bursaries to help remove barriers to post-secondary education for Indigenous students. This partnership will support over 300 students as part of our broader TELUS Student Bursary programme, which has given over $6 million in bursaries since its launch.
In addition to financial support, the TELUS Student Bursary provides access to vital resources, including mental health support through @TELUSHealth , mentoring and internships, and our TELUS Internet and TELUS Mobility for Good programmes where available. We’re thrilled to announce this new partnership that will continue to make the #FutureFriendly! 💻✨

With 78% of Canadian youth recognizing the impact of climate change on their mental wellbeing, a growing number are turning their “eco-anxiety” into collective action.
This #EarthDay, the @TELUS Interior and Northern BC Community Board is proud to support @bethechange_ea (BTCEA) and their CARE (Climate Action, Resilience, and Emotions) program.
CARE is a youth-led response to a complex problem. Reaching over 850 students, many in rural and remote communities, the program helps young people impacted by wildfires, flooding, and other climate catastrophes understand climate change concepts, process climate-related emotions, and gain motivation and confidence to take action.
One teacher captures the impact best: “The workshop was very valuable. I find so many climate conversations go negative, but BTCEA facilitated such an uplifting and positive view that made us feel empowered and capable.”
🌱Youth-led mentorship: Post-secondary facilitators lead workshops that use storytelling to build resilience and confidence.
💻 Digital reach: Online “Action Packs” ensure youth in rural and remote communities have access to world-class environmental education.
🤝 Culturally rooted: Developed in collaboration with the Qwelminte Secwepemc, the program honors Indigenous perspectives and food sovereignty.
By investing in the mental health and leadership of our youth, we are empowering the next generation of stewards to protect our environment.
