We are delighted to announce our new vinyl release in collaboration with
@oshurecords &
@pontoon_budapest : A Night For The Open Skies Vol 2: C.F.O. (Cosmic Forces Of Oneness) OSHU003!
40 minutes of mystical musical improvisation from the hearth of Budapest, recorded live by a cast of veteran musicians outdoors on the bank of the mighty Danube river encompassing spiritual jazz, afro funk, folk and avant-garde.
The opening track -a 12 minute spiritual-funk tour de force- is already a trusted killer on the dance floor in some DJ’s record bags and the rest of the LP provides just as deep of a listening.
Only 300 copies were pressed, out of which 200 is available via Bandcamp internationally and 100 via Pontoon in Hungary.
“…the musical direction was determined by the percussion-infused concepts of African and Brazilian styles. (These musical aspirations were later fulfilled in the founding of not just Àbáse but The Mabon Dawud Republic, as well as Felabration Budapest and United In Sound - Cosmic Forces of Oneness events). The South American and African inspirations were naturally interpreted and shaped by the local musicians – spiritual jazz, avant-garde and Hungarian folk music influences – resulting in a kind of fictional, forgotten, archaic-spiritual musical world.”
