SHELL BEACH (post-hardcore band from Hungary) \m/ \m/
Budapest alternative rock quintet Shell Beach traverse the lines of post-hardcore and experimental, showcasing
their intangible gift for introspective songwriting infused with their unique atmospheric alt rock sound.
Essentially a Hungarian supergroup from Budapest’s highly respected underground rock scene, Shell Beach
delivered their third album, the sensational Solar Flare, via Australian label Wild Thing Records on February
17th, 2023. Expanding on their hardcore and shoegaze roots, the band produced an incredibly evolved record,
heading in a more progressive direction than ever before. Through Solar Flare, the band delve deep into themes
of mental health, loss and rebirth, survival, resilience, and defiance. The new album also features a unique cover
of the 1994 Hungarian smash hit Olyan Szépek Voltunk (We Were So Beautiful); a tribute to the original
songwriter Tamás Somló (from world recognised acts Omega and Locomotiv GT), the late father of Shell Beach
guitarist Paul Somló.
Shell Beach have toured Europe and UK extensively, including major supports and festival slots, in addition to
several headline tours. The band have toured the continent with internationally renowned acts such as Enter
Shikari, And So I Watch You From Afar, Agent Fresco, Boysetsfire, Gallows, Arcane Roots, and many
more. From playing major festivals such as Sziget (HU), Groezrock (BE), Rock For People (CZ), Takedown
Festival (UK), Tech Fest (UK), Electric Castle (Romania) to being hand-picked to perform at prestigious
industry showcase festivals such as Budapest Showcase Hub (Hungary) and Tallinn Music Week (Estonia), Shell
Beach have established themselves as Hungary’s most eminent rock act, leaving the band’s international
fanbase eagerly awaiting their forthcoming record.
