Leg day can get neglected (sometimes on purpose) but thanks to @physio_rio we’re turning these twigs into trunks 🏋🏽♂️
This is an easy set on its own for those with stiff hips as it’s great unilateral work, or added into your upper body set.
- Pistol box squat x10 each side
- Cossack squat x10 each side
- Psoas sit up x10
(or as many reps as possible because gAinZ)

Sometimes we need to help our athletes feel (sensory stimulation) what we what them to do, rather than just expect them to understand via an explanation alone.
So another way to help the legs feel that push & full extension through the lower body, is to let them enjoy some banded jumps.
“Prolonged training in a specific sport will cause the central nervous system to program muscle coordination according to the demands of that sport”. And as the ability to jump for power has a correlation to recruiting power for weightlifting, you’ll want to train those jump mechanics 😉
Give it a try, you never know you probably won’t like it but your legs will definitely feel more awake for lifting after.

Putting competitions in to words is hard and often you want to say less.
My first competition for Guyana - these are for you Dad ❤️💛💚 I know you would have loved every moment of this.
Thanks to coach Sean & team mate Shammah for getting me through in the back room. Was great to see Guyana up on the board this last week.
Bodyweight 86kg (that extra kilo drop especially post holiday, was no joke for me), not my best performance but a score on the board.
Emotions mixed: proud, grateful & yet motivated by being unsatisfied.
Thanks to @mems_weightlifting for always pushing me, even at my big age. Looking forward to the next push under his watchful eye & the continued expert help from @sinead.feedfuelperform 🙏🏽

We’re excited to introduce our Women’s Olympic Weightlifting Course!
A five-week journey designed to help you build confidence, strength, and understanding through the fundamentals of Olympic lifting.
Each 90-minute session will explore squat mechanics and lifting mechanics as the foundation of effective strength training, teaching you how to move efficiently, safely, and with purpose. You’ll learn to perform the snatch and clean & jerk step-by-step, while also developing an appreciation for how proper technique enhances power, stability, and long-term performance. Our sessions will include tailored warm-ups that promote better movement quality, coordination, and control.
This course is beginner-friendly and welcomes all women, with specific consideration for pre- and postnatal needs, pelvic health, and overall women’s health. Our goal is to make Olympic lifting accessible, empowering, and educational for every participant — regardless of where you’re starting from.
The course will be led by Samantha Williams, a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist, qualified weightlifting coach, and international athlete who works closely with competitive international lifters in her physiotherapy practice. Samantha brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, coaching experience, and firsthand athletic insight to help you move well, lift well, and truly understand your strength.

Love this trend, because seeing other women’s height and sizes, just reminds you that your shape and size is just as “normal“ as everyone else and always BEAUTIFUL! And it really highlights how achieving certain things, given your height (for tall girls or the mini girls) is so impressive.

So to shake off the end of the week slump, I challenged the team to a slightly spicier warmup for the team session 😈 sometimes with a sport that requires so much time focussing, it good to have a little fun!
I have always maintained with my Athletes, that I would never ask them to do something I wouldn’t do. So of course I had to get involved!
