Your subject and background should feel like they belong in the same world. But when your subject is stuck in the shadows and is backlit you need to bring in strobes to illuminate them. At Gillette Stadium with this step and repeat with the Lombardi trophies, the goal wasn’t just to light the subject—it was to match the environment. Same direction, same quality, same vibe. We have teams at two different sites today. @threecircles.studio and @halidephotos are holding it down for us at the store and bringing joy to everyone in that line. Ice Lights Bring the Drama! Oh how I love working with actors who are also models. @surettesiobahn really is tiny but mighty! Check out just how fierce she can be! Each of these shots was lit with only one @westcottlighting ice light. The first was boomed and slightly to camera left. The second was to camera right and just a little behind where Siobahn was standing. The background is the x-drop pro scarlet red backdrop. Shot with @canonusa R6MKII paired with RF 24-105 F/4 lens shot at F4. Tethered directly into @evotoai so it was retouched right in real time using the @tethertools optima tether cord.

She’s a chameleon! @surettesiobahn has range, that’s for sure. We grabbed these lifestyle shots of her just minutes before we went live for my @creativelive master class on tube lights. All my gear was set up in the studio so natural light was all I had at my disposal. Luckily @mills58peabody had abundant spaces with exposed brick and window light. This was shot on my @canonusa R6mkII with the RF 85mm F/2.0 lens at F2.0. I picked the angle I was at so that I could capture the reflection of her in the wall art as well.
