Collaborating as Coral: with Enrico Paiardi on our Coral Holobiont inspired multi-user prototype giving users a direct experience as an expanded, connected collection of interactions and micro-organisms. Thanks to CODAME, Bruno Fonzi and the amazing team for The New Human art-tech hackathon hosted at Google Milan and TrueLayer. The event's design framing by Saba Soltanshahi and Dario Biagio Torrisi functioned successfully as both a framework and a muse. It was great to see all the participating creative-tech humans and their projects. Keep tuned!

Wrapping up the Phycologica art-science design research project that we presented late last year in Bristol, testing our hypothesis that an interactive, narrative installation - inviting collaboration with living bioluminescent algae - might foster a deeper emotional connection and spark curiosity towards unseen micro-organisms, crucial to planetary health.
Overall 90% of visitors felt more connected to these unseen microorganisms and more hopeful about Earth’s future as a result of deeper collaboration with our algae kin.
“What excited you the most about what you saw or learned?
The potential that algae has to connect humans with nature in an a new way”

Join us for a creative future thinking workshop where we will explore how algae could be part of a climate-positive future. Join Bristol-based designers Cécile (OtherWISE) & Jon (UXCraft) to spend time exploring algae’s incredible powers and fragilities, thinking about future scenarios and share your thoughts on exciting ideas explored in the workshop.
This workshop is part of Studio Blue Green's Phycologica – encountering algal luminescence at Centrespace, Bristol, on 25-28 October. exhibition and immersive experience at Centrespace in Bristol. You will have the opportunity to directly contribute to the legacy of this project, thinking about desirable futures with algae-driven technology.
All ages welcome. No previous experience needed!

It’s #worldalgaeday so an ideal moment to celebrate our life-supporting kin.
Algae produce oxygen for every second breath we take and are more efficient at removing carbon from the atmosphere than trees, but can be overlooked.
Join us in Bristol, for an immersive encounter with living microalgae.

We’re excited to present our immersive installation Phycologica at Centrespace Gallery (Bristol) 25, 26, 28th October.
Phycologica aims to showcase algae’s vital life-supporting powers, through the animating power of breath, light & sound.
Producing the oxygen for every other breath and driving ocean absorption of atmospheric carbon, how can we draw on these natural processes, embodied within its primordial wisdom, to envision a symbiotic, regenerative future?
Attuning to its microscopic world and vast connected ecosystems, brings an opportunity to (re)learn ancient ways of living with our life-sustaining algae kin.
Head here to book tickets and find out more: /e138643
The installation will be supported by an exhibition (no booking needed for this) and themed workshops, to be announced soon.
