And that's how it's done, done, DONE!! ๐ŸŒŸ ย  What an amazing turnout at the K-Pop 101 Dance Workshop on April 8! We had so much fun eating kimbap, learning about the cultural impact of K-Pop, dancing to a choreographed routine, and filming a group video! ย  On behalf of CAS and the Asian Studies Minor, a huge thanks to: ๐ŸŒ Intercultural Programs (@utdicp ) for having us on board for iWeekย 2026 ๐Ÿ”ฅ KDNT (@kdancenorthtexas ) for creating and instructing such a fun (yet challenging!!) choreography ๐Ÿฅข Baro Baroย Kimbap (@barobarokimbap ) for supplying the delicious kimbap lunch โœจ Harry W. Calling all dancers and K-Pop fans! In partnership with Intercultural Programs (@utdicp ), the Asian Studies Minor and Center for Asian Studies present K-Pop 101 as part of iWeek 2026! Join us on Wednesday, April 8 to learn about the cultural impact of K-Pop along with a dance routine choreographed by the group KPOP DANCE NORTH TEXAS (@kdancenorthtexas ). The event will end with a group finale performance all together! Wearing a black top is suggested, and all levels are welcome with no previous skills or knowledge required. Kimbap will be provided (limited supply & first come, first served), and the first 30 people to check in will receive a free t-shirt! ๐ŸงงThe Bass School wishes everyone a happy Lunar New Year!๐ŸŽ We brought in the year of the horse with the annual Lunar New Year Festival hosted by the Center for Asian Studies (@utdcas ), the Texas Cultural Exchange Center, and the Dallas Huayun Orchestra. Audiences enjoyed cultural instrumental and dance performances including bian lian, guzheng and pipa performances, and a variety of other traditional dances.
