We are delighted to sponsor @marin_ballet ’s upcoming performances of Nutcracker on Dec 10 and 11 at Marin Center, San Rafael.
Clara’s whimsical Christmas Eve dreams come to life through the art of classical ballet, enriched by clever storytelling, mischievous humor, and heroic characters. Choreographed by Performance Director Julia Adam, the production features the artistry of 125 dancers, lavish Victorian costumes and sets, and an airborne surprise at final curtain. Share this marvelous holiday tradition with friends and family.
Tickets are available via the link in our bio.
This project began with a circa 1925 building in such disrepair that it was ultimately brought down to the studs.
Starting with a north/south orientation and maximizing the window openings at both ends to allow for light to penetrate deep into the center of the house, the main living level was transformed into a nexus for family life that now includes casual and formal rooms that can flow together seamlessly or be separated by pocket doors. A magnificent sculptural staircase, inspired by an image of an English Victorian newel post (provided by the client), serves to connect all four floors. Stained oak floors, windows with an industrial-chic sensibility, and large slabs of Negro Marquina stone enhance the serenity of the space.

Featured in @luxemagazine , this new contemporary Wine Country passive home is beautifully sited and anchored on two levels into a vineyard ridge. It features photovoltaic solar panels on the main roof, engineered wood products for the framing, reclaimed lumber siding on the exterior elevations, stained concrete floor over radiant heating throughout the interior, and a board-formed fireplace element at the Living Room. Concrete planter beds function as both structure and soft transition from an expansive pool terrace to the vineyard. And a main roof trellis combines with a site trellis to provide ample area for indoor/outdoor entertaining during the warm summer months.

The samurai were role models for discipline, respect, and ethical behavior. Each year the owners of Upscale Construction nominate an employee who exemplifies these traits, and a samurai sword handoff is performed. Congratulations to Robert Arrizon, the 2022 recipient of the sword.

A San Francisco native, of Italian descent, Danny Bernardini began his construction career in 1989 with a Marin contractor and received his general contractor license in 1995. As the company's reputation and experience grew, Danny shepherded the business from a sole proprietorship to the full-service general contracting company it is today. His desire for openness and clarity on all projects; as well as an eye for detail, creativity and talent helped establish Upscale's reputation in the Bay Area community. Danny's primary focus is on client relations, oversight of the project management team and quality control.
Upscale Construction is a Bay Area general contracting company that believes the building process can be made both memorable and positive. We strive to ensure that our clients' and architects' construction experience will always be a legacy to quality and value.
We are a company whose work ethic is firmly rooted in the rigor of our training as skilled craftsmen. Our close-knit work culture is informed by our backgrounds, which are as varied as the projects that we love to build. We care deeply about what we do at Upscale and base our network of relationships on a respect we know must be earned. Throughout both design development and construction, we commit ourselves to the complete execution of the architect's intent and our client's wishes. And we extend to each project we build—regardless of size—the senior management service of a larger company with the competitive cost and personal accountability of a smaller builder.
Working with Upscale you will experience both a professional and personal approach.
