Originally built in 1926, this Berkeley Hills home carries a remarkable architectural history.
Our design approach focused on preserving the home’s character while adapting it for contemporary living. Inspiration came directly from the architecture, including the arched windows and doors, curved transitions, and linear beams, allowing the original structure to guide each decision.

This California retreat balances deep respect for the original architecture with bold, color-forward choices that still feel completely at home in the redwoods.
We shot this in late October, and I loved chasing the autumn light—wood grain, stone, tile, and those jewel-tone moments that quietly glow against the forest palette.
