A long overdue post- Released in October of 2023, EMBRYO magazine issue #4 by Natural Sciences features an extensive interview where we discuss the inspiration for, and ideology behind, our label and our events. UNITED has been operating for almost 6 years now, but this is our first published interview. We invite you to peruse our feature in EMBRYO and learn a bit more about our background and our mission. Physical copies are still available for purchase via the label's Bandcamp for those interested in owning a piece of underground history (otherwise, zoom and squint 😅 or ask us for a PDF of our section). A million thanks to you all for coming out to "Up From Below" and making it such an incredible experience! We don't rely on the outlets typically used for event promotion, meaning any of you who invited a friend, passed a flyer, or shared the event online were the reason we had a full house to share this night. We were blessed with some of the most stalwart, down-for-anything volunteers and dedicated crew. Our deeply dedicated lineup of musicians and dj's heard the call and responded with incredible performances that will be etched into our minds and bodies forever. @janemargarette @i.ce.wa.ll @splatterandy @pulsefinder @s_1im The goated lighting and laser combo of Byte @_.byte x Jason @jsonpayload blew us all away with their mind-meld collaboration, tweaking the colors and atmospheres to perfection to match the mood. PULSE FINDER embodies the spirit of San Francisco’s underground electronic movement. He is part of the vibrant Vitamin1000 crew @vitamin1k , co-organizer of the Domain @domain.key event series, and one-half of Online Narcotics alongside Zero Idea, a duo that has released tracks on Siah Records and Heist Mode. His sound can be characterized by his selective choice of potent floor-fillers and spicey cuts unearthed from deep within musty, forgotten crates. However, his reverence for the past does not inhibit his ability to incorporate the contemporary—it has always been about the sound. His intentionality and dedication to the craft is palpable, and there does not seem to be an end in sight. Visual artist and DJ Jane Margarette, raised as a classical musician and shaped by San Diego’s punk and hardcore scenes, spins freaky intimate webs with uncanny precision. A genre-moody, emotional-excavator by nature, her selections move with a kind of quiet logic, less curated than conjured. Jane helms the shape-shifting Psychic Skin @psy.chic.skin party, mix series & radio show and co-runs 14x21 @14x21_la , an interdimensional party of certain dimensions. Reigning from Tennessee, Redline is the militantly acid mastermind behind label Full Auto Acid, and member of Nashville collective Phaaser @phaaser.world Working in clandestine methods, his tracks range from hardcore acid techno to off-kilter electro delivered through hardware, DJ, or hybrid systems. We are elated for his return to the United Selector Network on Saturday, April 11th, for an hour of live acid madness.

Ice Wall is a live duo from Los Angeles by the co-founders of the PERP record label. The two have been making a name for themselves by delivering scorching hardware jams that toe the line between intelligent psytrance and techno minimalia, with an urgent sense of movement pervading every bar. Cofounding member of the LA record label & event series @new.palm and a core member of @gradientcampout , Seung L is a Korean-born, US-raised house dancer and vinyl DJ with an ear for atmosphere and heady grooves. Having spent his formative years in the 2000’s LA warehouse scene, this coffee connoisseur has an equal affinity for house, techno, and ambient music – a breadth that informs his digging and mixing to this day. Come and hear the outcome of his practice and experience as Seung opens the dancefloor with an hour of vinyl cuts on April 11th for the United Selector Network.
