During this ceremony, these two shared four symbolic cups representing the different parts of marriage: - Honey for the sweetness - Hot sauce for the heat and passion - Lemon juice for the sour moments - Vinegar for the bitter seasons every relationship eventually faces And honestly? Small ceremonies are harder to design well...yep, I said it. This wedding had around 70 guests total, but the couple intentionally kept their ceremony limited to only their closest family and friends. They wanted the moment to feel intimate, emotional, and deeply personal, not like a performance in front of a crowd. Small guest counts completely change how a room behaves. The space can either feel warm and immersive...or awkwardly empty REAL fast. Every design decision matters more because there are fewer people naturally filling the energy of the room. This was actually the FIRST ceremony ever held in the library area of the venue, and the second we walked in, we knew it had potential. The natural light, oversized brass fixtures, and dramatic shelving already carried so much atmosphere on their own. The challenge was making the room feel layered and emotionally significant without overwhelming the architecture OR the couple. A lot of what we did here was strategic problem solving: - Removing furniture to reshape the room - Covering rugs with a thick aisle runner for safety - Disguising unattractive flooring transitions with signage - Layering LED pillar candles throughout the shelving - Using LED candles instead of real flame so the installation could safely glow all night - Repurposing ceremony florals later in the evening to reduce waste - Even the chairs mattered. We intentionally selected heavier, wider chairs and angled them at 45 degrees to make the room feel softer, warmer, and more connected. Because good wedding design is not just about making something look pretty. It’s understanding atmosphere, flow, guest psychology, and emotional impact. Guests remember how a wedding feels long after they forget the centerpieces. There’s a huge difference between decorating a ballroom and completely transforming how it feels. This wedding was designed intentionally from the very beginning to feel seasonally warm, immersive, elevated, and unmistakably Florida without leaning too beachy or predictable. The lighting, layered textures, tropical greenery, candlelight, draping, and layout all worked together to shift the atmosphere of the space entirely. One of the biggest misconceptions about wedding design is that it’s just picking pretty things. Real design is understanding how scale, lighting, texture, proportion, and environment affect the guest experience and emotional response throughout the night. And honestly?
