I have not forgotten you valued listener, I have been shifting some plates around in my life and will still be providing you with top shelf audio entertainment via the world wide web but on a less frequent basis. With that housekeeping out of the way, allow me to recount a recent sojourn I had with my good friend @izzy_sawdust : We were out in the beautiful country when we spied a strange stone in our path. Excavating it, we found a cassette, sealed within a glove of stone. Carefully chipping away, we saw the names on the side: DJ Caveman b2b DJ Iceman, no dates, no further clues. Listening back in the palacial Blue Room studio with a bottle of red, we heard the most jacking and rugged mix imaginable, 4 hours of racked up beats that I trimmed down to a sensible 2 hour listening experience. Hello darlings, its 2026, the shit factory keeps on working bur we work harder, no matter how fucked things get, we keep us safe and we can always do something different to make the world we want to see, don't let any fucking freak tell you otherwise! Been revisiting things that really anchor me lately and decided to go back to basics and do a special on a DJ and Producer that really changed how I think about music in general, Theo Parrish. I first heard Theo's music on a Palace skate video a decade and a bit back, the track was "How I Feel". It lifted my lid entirely off my head and rearranged my shit permanently. I think its probably a nod to Sun Ra (unsubstantiated) but thats another coversation! Basically everything I have ever listened to has altered my mental landscape, every mix is a lesson in how little you know about music or DJing. Its crazy to exist at the same time as this guy and still havent had time to attend one of his sermons. Perhaps the future will still bless me.
