🚨After years of advocacy, Iowa has officially become the final state in the U.S. to make the torture of companion animals a felony offense. ⚖️🐾 Governor @kimreynoldsia signed House File 2348, known as “Ember’s Law,” strengthening protections for vulnerable animals and holding abusers accountable. The law was inspired by Ember, a puppy who survived a horrific abuse case that sparked outrage across the state. Under the new law, those convicted of torturing a companion animal can now face felony charges on a first offense. “This is about cracking down on intentional, willful, and malicious infliction of pain or prolonged death on animals,” stated Governor Reynolds.
