That’s why we’re launching Shelter Helpers: a community of monthly donors who help provide reliable support for Arizona families all year long.
Our goal is to welcome 100 Shelter Helpers by June 30.

Five years ago, Celiana served as a Case Manager here at UMOM New Day Centers, gaining firsthand experience supporting participants. After growing her skills, she returned just 7 months ago, now leading at a new level and helping ensure families have the support and systems they need to succeed.
She’s passionate about creating real, lasting change, not just temporary relief, and believes every family deserves safety, resources, and a path forward.

This Mother’s Day, our campus was filled with color, creativity, and so much joy! 💐
Families came together for a special arts and crafts activity where kids, parents, and volunteers created handmade gifts for the mothers and loved ones in their lives. From paper bouquets and colorful scratch art to crayons, gems, and construction paper, it was beautiful to see people of all ages get lost in the simple joy of making something by hand.
We also had a free book popup, and it was a hit! 📚 Kids and adults sifted through titles and walked away with stacks of books to read and enjoy.
Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who helped make this day so special. 💛

It’s the training ground for our Homegrown Culinary Program, where participants gain real-world skills, earn certifications, and take meaningful steps toward employment and stable housing. Our Homegrown Cohort 10 participants stepped into their restaurant simulation, putting their skills to the test in a fast-paced, real-world setting. From the kitchen line to guest service, every role played a part in bringing the experience to life.
Through 𝗨𝗠𝗢𝗠’𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 Program, participants gain hands-on experience that builds confidence and opens doors to employment—because jobs + housing = ending homelessness.

Phoenix is quickly becoming one of the fastest-growing hubs for logistics and warehouse jobs, with strong demand across distribution and supply chain roles.
That’s why UMOM has expanded its Homegrown Training Program to include a new Warehouse & Logistics track.
In this interview, UMOM COO Meaghan Rodeck shares how our clients can now train in warehouse operations and facilities maintenance through an earn-while-you-learn model. With hands-on experience, certifications, and real job pathways, participants are building the stability that leads to long-term housing.
