Last year, we did a whirlwind tour of Toronto’s sapphic cat cult and now we’re finalists at the Society of Publication Designers’ 2026 Awards! The sapphic cat cult shoot was in the top 3 days of 2025, without question. It started with @sunnyterracotta bringing the idea to the table, and we were all obsessed + realized we needed to do a full tour. So we put a call out for sapphics with cats, got 60+ applicants, and filtered down based on who had the nicest cats until we had the perfect cat map. July 26 we rented a U-haul, hit the streets, and spent 14+ hours meeting Toronto’s best kitties and the sapphics that worship them. ❤️‍🔥 This is a super competitive awards body with thousands of entrants, and it’s wild seeing Lore even mentioned in the same list as @gq , @vanityfair , and the @nytimes . The category we’re up for is print design, but the design work here is SO deeply driven by the amazing photos courtesy of @uhhhwhy , @sunnyterracotta , @grocerylyst , @connnie.o and @niko.fox . Such an honour to get international recognition for something we cooked up in Toronto, and who ever said you need to leave Canada to make an impact? If you’re working on any of our upcoming shoots, just know we’re making sure your work gets considered for awards like this. And big big congrats to our pals at @serviettemagazine who are also representing Toronto and finalists in multiple categories, too! when @niko.fox asked me about contributing photos to a feature in lore #3 by @sunnyterracotta involving cults, cats and sapphics, i had a lot of questions. but after numerous google meet worldbuilding sessions, assembling a crack team and spending a few hours with the demi god squish, i don’t know if any of those questions were answered.
