One of our preferred methods of brewing 20g in the UFO V2 is to incorporate the @melodripco . Grind size: medium coarse (1200-1300mu) Brew temp: 92°C Filter: UFO Type A Ratio: 1:15, 20g coffee to 300g brew water 00:00-01:00 60g 01:00-01:30 60g 01:30-02:00 60g 02:00-02:30 60g Melodrip pour 02:30-03:00 60g Melodrip pour The melodrip pour in the last two pours speed up the brew by causing very little agitation, thus significantly reducing fines migration towards the bottom of the brew bed in the later stages of the brew, where the slower flowing Type A filter (especially with dense coffees) is at risk of clogging due to fines clogging the filter. This helps clean up the aftertaste and improve mouthfeel. UFO ERA.🛸

UFO new material Type A filters are not fast flowing, nor is it slow flowing. This will be the closest to a traditional filter coffee brewing flow rate. Great for those who enjoy grinding coarse or those who enjoy heavily processed coffees but still wish for clarity and balance in the cup instead of just "funk".

Don't throw away the white plastic thing in the box! It's our filter folding template. This tool allows you to use any 02 size V60 filter or flat filter of your choice as it creates the perfect angle for the UFO's unique 80° wall angle. How-to: Align the non-tabbed side to the short side of template. Fold up from the bottom. Rip excess material from the tabbed side. Rinse & brew. UFO ERA.🛸

Been serving all brews at pop-ups with the @ufodripper Type A new material. Brews have been incredibly clean, rewarding coarse grinds (27-33clicks on C40). Had such an epic time brewing and serving with @barista_hany today at @ruber.roastery . All brews served in @ni.wares .

UFO Variable Wall Thickness Technology, and the reason behind the decision to not include base (holder). Ceramic UFO is an attempt at stabilizing coffee slurry temperature throughout brewing. It’s no secret that ceramic is one of the worst materials when it comes to thermal stability. It constantly soaks heat from slurry, then transfers it to the outer environment. Even then, there are ways to improve on this. Our approach was via reducing unnecessary thermal mass from the upper levels of the dripper construction and also via removing the base which elevates the coffee slurry above the server which then exposes the lower levels of the dripper to the outside air, thus more rapidly promoting heat loss at surface through convection and radiation. Ceramic UFO’s uppermost wall thickness is 23.7% thinner than the lowermost wall thickness, removing unnecessary thermal mass. Ceramic UFO is designed to sit directly on the server, which allows the hot heat from the output coffee inside the server to circulate upwards, constantly providing an additional source of heat towards the thickest part of the dripper for better thermal stability. This would be an issue in traditional protruding-rib designs where airflow is heavily dependent on the separation of the dripper base and server via base risers, but with UFO’s air channels that provide constant and consistent air flow from behind the filter, fear of clogging (stalling) via air-lock is fully out of question.
