Monika Škodová: [triptych] vernissage + happening: June 11th, 17:00 exhibition duration: 11.6. – 3.7. Another layer of this year’s [TypospoT] exhibition season will be formed by @msk.od ’s exhibition [triptych]. 💚 In [triptych], Monika works with typographic symbols, originally created to organize text, as stand-ins for the different positions we occupy within society. Each poster represents a different social layer, different environment, different context we are born into, move through, or become part of. But this exhibition will not be complete without you. The vernissage itself will also function as a happening, during which the installation will become interactive and collectively finished by its visitors. Together, we’ll reflect on where we place ourselves within society, how we relate to others around us, and what kinds of invisible structures and systems shape us. Monika Škodová is a Slovak graphic designer and illustrator currently based in Prague. In her practice, she explores process-based and collective approaches to creation, often working with play as a tool for visual production and social interaction. Alongside this, she focuses on drawing, line, and hand-made typographic symbols, which she further transforms into physical and spatial outputs. And because layers should sometimes also be experienced collectively, we’re very excited that this vernissage will become a participatory happening for all of you. 💚 We’ll see you on June 11th! In the meantime, you still have plenty of time to experience our ongoing exhibition by @gandeluca . Yayy!! The bottom layer in our exhibition identity is made by @msk.od ! 🤍 This project is supported by @staromestske_centra_kultury . ✨ #typospot #vernissage #exhibition #typography #graphicdesign

[talismans]: Lucia Gandelová opening vernissage: May 12th, 17:00 exhibition duration: May 12th – June 5th +workshop: info coming next week This year, we’re made up of layers of our different exhibiting artists. One of them is @gandeluca , whose idea of layers is quite similar.  Lucia thinks about layers as people you meet. You try them on like a new shirt. Sometimes you like them, sometimes they don’t fit right. Over time, some of them become your favourite ones, you never want to take them off. But sometimes you grow out of them, or they grow out of you, or there’s a hole too hard to fix. Lucia thinks about people she’s loved as her own personal layers. Their presence, their way of existing, their love, she still feels it on her skin. Sticked there forever. They are in her closet, in her drawers, her pockets. All these layers we’re all made of. And all these layers will make up her exhibition, to whose vernissage we’re excited to invite all of you! Mark your calendars, because this time it will be held on a Tuesday instead of Thursday. 💚 Lucia Gandelová is a graphic designer, book server at @brotbooksdeli , life reviewer and a barbie. She likes to refer to her practice as being a visual cleaner. In her work, she’s focused on finding the balance between space, content, and form, resulting in typographic solutions most of the time. She used to draw but doesn’t do that anymore. She likes to play with her clothes and make videos about it, followed up by stories from everyday life, which entertain her, and seem to entertain her instagram followers just as much.  If you want to be entertained even more, you’ll be able to do so during our third edition of [T]-workshop, where you’ll work with the layers that make up your own selves. Get ready to sign up next week if you don’t want to miss it! We’ll see you on May 12th at the vernissage! In the meantime, we have another vernissage coming up this week by the one and only @emaluuuvka , so we’ll see you there first 🤍 Yayy!! The bottom layer in our exhibition identity is made by @gandeluca ! This project is supported by @staromestske_centra_kultury . ✨ #typospot #bratislavaevents #vernissage #exhibition #typography

Yesterday, we held a secret spontaneous meetup where we exchanged our experiences with organizing events together with our dear friends and also with students from @typotype_hfg_of , @hfg_offenbach , who shared some of their projects with us as well! Afterwards, we moved to visit the final moments of @paulinagajerova ’s exhibition at @subtyyl , where Richard played the fujara to close the meetup. 💚 A huge thanks goes to @martinjenca for letting us host this very last-minute gathering at @buromilk . 🤍🤍 And a biiiiig thank you for accepting the invitation and speaking about your platforms: @al.koool (@m2m.collective ), @meggyeskert (@falu_kollektiva ), @hronskyy (@subtyyl ), @bruno_jacoby_official (@a_place_in_the_woods ) + us @typospot_ (@monmoonika , @peter_poznik , @design.paulen , @nikkistanke (@thebreakfastclub_kvk , @kuumstfestival ) And lastly, thank you to all the students from @typotype_hfg_of for presenting your projects: @camilachinchilla_ , @mayo.b.s , @briesemut , @lisaschmel , @ilyakirshin_ It was all very inspiring, and hopefully we’ll get to meet again someday! 💚 Photos by: @peter_poznik #typospot #typography #eventorganisation #graphicdesign #exhibition

@gandeluca ’s layers are formed by the people she meets. Yesterday, she has created a significant layer on us and all of you, who came to the opening of her exhibition. We’ll cherish this memory as a precious talisman, along with the physical talismans Lucia has personally prepared as a surprise for everyone. We’ll keep them forever! 💚 And to everyone who has missed the vernissage, Lucia’s exhibition will be open until June 5th, so don’t worry! We’ll be also making our own talismans with everyone who has registered to Lucia’s workshop next Monday and we can’t waittttt. Yay! 🤍🤍 Photos by: @peter_poznik 🖤 Our project is supported by @staromestske_centra_kultury

Here to remind you that you only have about one week left to see @emaluuuvka ’s exhibition [interim]. Mark the date of May 8th, because after that, you won’t have the chance to experience Ema’s interactive exhibition in person! Run, don’t walk, so you don’t miss it! 🏃🤍 These beautiful posters were printed thanks to the support of @bittner.sk . Thank you! 💚 Our project is supported by @staromestske_centra_kultury . Utekaj, aby si o to neprišlx! 🏃🤍 Tieto krásne plagáty boli vytlačené v/a vďaka podpore @bittner.sk . On Saturday, we held a little secret picnic gathering to celebrate our first anniversary from a few weeks ago. 🩷 Since we’re @typospot_ , we just had to include some fun typographic activities, some of which were successful, and some a huge fail. The successful ones included decorating our cups with sparkly “T”s and an unexpected surprise workshop. The fail was completely our fault. We planned a hear-me-out cake with fonts and forgot our hear-me-outs at home. 🥲 Anyway, it was really nice to meet somewhere other than our usual spot, slow down, eat, and just sit together for a bit. 💚 Thank you to everyone who came and made our picnic dreams come true. We’ll see you when we see you! ✨ Special thanks goes to @lenasebik for the fanciest picnic blanket ever!🤍 Photos by: @esters.lens and @peter_poznik #typospot #typography #graphicdesign #picnic #workshop

[T]-workshop #3 x Lucia Gandelová: [talismans] May 18th, 17:00 – 19:00 location: Youth HUB, Štefánikova 39, Bratislava, PC room on the 2nd floor capacity: 13 people registration: CLOSED entry: free required: bringing a piece of clothing/fabric that is somehow sentimental to you* optional: bringing snacks This is not a drill. We’re announcing another workshop, and we hope you’re as excited as we are! And we hope you’ve all been wondering how to create a talisman (and a typeface) from a pile of clothing, because that’s exactly what we’ll be doing! 👕👚 In this edition of [T]-workshop with @gandeluca , we’ll approach type design from a very non-typographic perspective. This time, we’re going more analogue! *All you need to do is bring a piece of clothing that reminds you of someone you love, a certain time you spent with someone and like to remember, or someone you’d like to keep by your side all the time. The clothing should be on the lighter side (no blacks pls, for pure legibility reasons). All you need to do is remember the person’s name! Everything else will be taken care of. And no worries! No clothing will be damaged in the process. 🤍 The workshop is primarily intended for graphic designers and students of art and design schools, but also for anyone who wants to experiment a bit. For any additional info, feel free to send us a DM. This workshop is a side event for Lucia’s exhibition, which we’ll be opening on May 12th! 💚 This project is made with the support of and hosted at @bratislavska_platforma_mladych . The visual is a sneak peek of the workshop by @gandeluca 🖤 #typospot #bratislavaevents #workshop typography graphicdesign

DM for precise location and instructions Surpriseeee. To celebrate our first birthday, we’ll be informally gathering for a picnic this Saturday! We’ll have a birthday cake and some fun activities ready for you. 💚 The cake will be a hear-me-out cake with fonts, so bring some of your hear-me-out fonts written/printed on a piece of paper. Other than that, bring some food, drinks, picnic blankets, and a friendly mood.🩷 Yayyy! Risoprint by @nikkistanke ✨ #typospot #birthday #secret #picnic #typography

Last Thursday, we had our second edition of [T]-workshop! This one was an accompanying event to @emaluuuvka ’s exhibition [interim], which is currently on view until May 8th. During the workshop, we collectively simulated Ema’s experimental typography workflow in Figma. She approaches typography as an open and evolving system, where form does not emerge as a finished object, but as a temporary stabilization of layers of decisions and interventions. Over three rounds, we created more than 58 variations of a collective typeface built from modules. We’ll try to digitize every single one of these possibilities, so wish us luck and enough free time to do it. As a bonus round, the participants also created a collective poster! Thank you to everyone who came. We hope you all had as much fun and got as much of an energy boost as we did! We’ll be announcing our next workshop this Friday, so if you don’t want to miss registration, set your alarms. This time, it will be more analogue. A huge thanks also goes to @bratislavska_platforma_mladych for letting us host the workshop in your beautiful space! Yesterday, we opened our official @typospot_ exhibition season 2026 with @emaluuuvka ’s exhibition [interim]. 💚 In Ema’s exhibition, typography is an open and evolving system, where form does not emerge as a finished object, but as a temporary stabilization of layers of decisions and interventions. The posters are thus just one of many possible versions that could have been. To demonstrate this further, [interim] is an interactive exhibition, where multiple other forms and shapes appear in motion. The exhibition is built around hybrid or “mutant” characters æ (ash), ‽ (interrobang), and þ (thorn), which exist in-between. They are forms in which multiple states coexist at once. Thank you to everyone who came to the vernissage! And if you missed it, don’t worry. It will be up until May 8th! 🤍 Also, a huge thanks goes to our team @monmoonika , @peter_poznik , @nikkistanke and @design.paulen for making everything come together for our new year. Special thanks to @samuel.stanke for helping with the installation and to @al.koool for helping us fix our new flag! 🤍 Photos by: @nikkistanke , @peter_poznik , @esters.lens Our project is supported by @staromestske_centra_kultury

[the beginnings] [T]-review: Monika Juríková, Peter Pozník, Tomáš Paulen 3 days ago, except a year ago, our very first exhibition opened. [le prélude] by us, the @typospot_ founders @monmoonika , @peter_poznik , and @design.paulen , was an installation that served exactly the purpose its name suggests: a prelude to everything that would follow. To celebrate our anniversary, throughout the year we’ll be releasing interviews with our exhibiting artists, always a year after their exhibitions. The first one looks at the behind-the-scenes of launching our platform. We discuss our wishes, worries, and relationships with beginnings. Something everyone experiences, yet isn’t talked about nearly as openly as it should be. Since the beginning of our platform, a lot has happened, and now it’s very fun (and a bit emotional) to look back at our past selves and the growth we’ve experienced since then! 💚 And yes, surprise! We’ve also given our website typospot.eu a veeery fresh refresh so it can hold much more content! Yay!! 🤍🤍 All interviews are also available in a physical, more catalogue-like version of [T]-review. If you’d like to support our activities, you can purchase it via our DMs or at @brotbooksdeli ! ✨ Photos by the best: @esters.lens #interview #typospot #typography #graphicdesign #beginning
