[talismans]: Lucia Gandelová
opening vernissage: May 12th, 17:00
exhibition duration: May 12th – June 5th
+workshop: info coming next week
This year, we’re made up of layers of our different exhibiting artists. One of them is
@gandeluca , whose idea of layers is quite similar.
Lucia thinks about layers as people you meet. You try them on like a new shirt. Sometimes you like them, sometimes they don’t fit right. Over time, some of them become your favourite ones, you never want to take them off. But sometimes you grow out of them, or they grow out of you, or there’s a hole too hard to fix.
Lucia thinks about people she’s loved as her own personal layers. Their presence, their way of existing, their love, she still feels it on her skin. Sticked there forever. They are in her closet, in her drawers, her pockets. All these layers we’re all made of.
And all these layers will make up her exhibition, to whose vernissage we’re excited to invite all of you! Mark your calendars, because this time it will be held on a Tuesday instead of Thursday. 💚
Lucia Gandelová is a graphic designer, book server at
@brotbooksdeli , life reviewer and a barbie. She likes to refer to her practice as being a visual cleaner. In her work, she’s focused on finding the balance between space, content, and form, resulting in typographic solutions most of the time. She used to draw but doesn’t do that anymore. She likes to play with her clothes and make videos about it, followed up by stories from everyday life, which entertain her, and seem to entertain her instagram followers just as much.
If you want to be entertained even more, you’ll be able to do so during our third edition of [T]-workshop, where you’ll work with the layers that make up your own selves. Get ready to sign up next week if you don’t want to miss it!
We’ll see you on May 12th at the vernissage! In the meantime, we have another vernissage coming up this week by the one and only
@emaluuuvka , so we’ll see you there first 🤍 Yayy!!
The bottom layer in our exhibition identity is made by
