when we launched in 2023, T1C already felt like an achievement. bc publicly inviting everyone to celebrate diabetes, when it’s so tied up with our bodies, health and sense of self, was a p big deal!
then we started meeting all of you :) and realised that feeling was only the beginning. the energy you bring, the sense of belonging we share ! so special 🫶🏻
a few of the moments that made it: dancing together at our parties/glasto/wildwood takeovers. chatting to you at festivals we partnered with to make them more accessible. chatting to allies about how they support their diabetic loved one. starting a whatsapp group. giggling at messages on the whatsapp group. handing out @notjustapatch covers. introducing ppl at our parties and saying “they have diabetes” with pride. ppl coming to our parties by themselves and having a fab time. supporting each other through bad hypos. bumping sensors on the d floor. msgs from u about how much t1c means to you. chatting to allies about the intricacies of type one. stashing lift glucose shots behind bars so hypos in the club weren’t so scary. learning from each other. enjoying a hungover pizza. spiking post-pizza. giggling again. hugging. dancing even more…
