What we stand for shapes everything we do. š
At Not Just a Patch, we believe that success isnāt just about what we achieveāitās about how we achieve it. Thatās why we believe values are so important because they show us how to do it. šŖ
Our three core values which we live by in everything we do at Not Just a Patch are š giving back, fun & perspective and commitment to listen and evolve.
Our values guide every decision, every innovation, and every connection we build. They shape our culture, fuel our passion, and define the impact we make in the world.
A CGM alarm is not a drama button. Itās information.
And the most helpful adult in the room is usually the one who can stay calm, follow the plan, and ask the right question:
āDo you know what your plan says to do?ā
For parents, caregivers, teachers, coaches, babysitters, aunties, uncles, grandparents, and every trusted grown-up in a childās diabetes circle this oneās for you.
You donāt need to carry the whole weight of diabetes. But you can carry one small piece of the load:
A plan.
A snack.
A quiet voice.
A spare patch.
A call to the parent when needed.
That matters more than you know.
Save this carousel. Send it to the group chat. Print the plan. Check where the hypo supplies are. Keep adhesive support handy for real life: sweat, swimming, playgrounds, sleepovers, and the occasional āhow did this even happen?ā sensor edge.
Calm helps.
Preparation helps.
Community helps.
And no one should have to figure it out mid-alarm.
7 years of wild! When Phoenix was diagnosed, we were nervous that he would lose his fire, but instead he just keeps finding new ways to be brave, strong, and courageous. His wild has not been tamed, and a big part of that is the efforts from all the incredible people in his life and the tools weāve found to keep him thriving.
We work endlessly to ensure that he never feels restricted. Every day is a new challenge, but every bit of it has been so worth it to see his energy and his light continue shining bright. As we travel around the country and meet new people, his biggest hope is that people know heās just a regular kiddo that loves to run, play, bike, and hike.
Happy 7th Birthday to the most incredible little man Iāve ever met! ššš We love watching you thrive and grow, little man! Youāre doing huge and amazing things! š
Real talk: when a kid with T1D is low, they may not seem like themselves.
They might cry. Snap. Go quiet. Get angry. Act dramatic. Refuse help from the exact person trying to help them. Iconic timing, honestly.
But hereās the thing: a low blood sugar moment is not the time for a TED Talk.
First: fast carbs.
Then: calm.
Then: check theyāre safe.
The conversation can happen later, when their brain has enough glucose to actually join the meeting.
Because sometimes bad behavior is really just a low blood sugar asking for help in the worst font possible.
š§ Support first.
š¬ Lecture later.
ā¤ļø Dignity always.
All you need is peace, trust, and a patch thatās always got your backā¦even when itās on your belly or arm š¤
Find your patch at Walgreens & CVS (USA) or the link in my bio.

To the parents watching the CGM at 3 a.m.
We wish you rest.
Not the one eye closed while still refreshing the app kind of rest.
Real rest.
The kind where your shoulders drop.
Where every beep doesnāt send your heart into your throat.
Where you donāt replay dinner, insulin, activity, growth spurts, stress, sleep, and what did we miss like detectives with no off switch.
Because hereās the truth:
You are not failing because youāre tired.
You are not failing because the numbers are messy.
You are not failing because diabetes didnāt behave tonight.
Youāre parenting through something most people never see: the quiet, invisible work of keeping your child safe while the rest of the house sleeps.
So our wish for you is this:
May the sensor stay stuck.
May the alerts be boring.
May the night be gentle.
May you get to be parents first, not stand-in pancreases, for just a little while.
And if real rest isnāt possible tonight, may you at least feel less alone in the watching.
And may you remember, even at 3 a.m., even in the worry, even in the exhaustion:
You are doing so much better than you think.
No lecture. Just love.

Happy to collaborate with @notjustapatch and share more about some of the details of my journey. This is for their Informational Newsletter on sugar, carb anxiety, and food freedom. Something all of us T1Ds can benefit from!
Hope this helpsšš
