Untold backstory 🎥⚡️ On Sonic the Hedgehog, my camera was Sonic’s POV a gimbal mounted to an RC car with @Ty.Flyer driving it FPV. This was an ARRI show so everything had to stay image consistent… which meant I had to shoot at 3 frames per second. Here’s the fun part: on ARRI cameras at 3fps, there’s essentially no true live view. So I was forced to pan and tilt by feel, timing, and pure mind power basically operating blind, like a continuous timelapse, trying not to oversteer the lens in any direction. When played back at 24fps, every micro imperfection is exposed. This was highly complex shot with many moving parts, real risk, and the added pressure of operating off a stuttered view all demanding absolute smoothness. Hands down, the hardest concentration I’ve ever had behind a camera. The other part of the equation: Ty had to drive under a moving semi, time a near miss with a car, then both of us had to lock onto a motorcycle holding for a beat and then crash into the bushes for the cut point. We have a saying: “It’s easy…till it’s not.” This being one of those moments with everyone watching and the pressure on. This screenshot is exactly what I was operating from. Step into the arena. After 7 years, I’m officially leaving the Peacemaker Filmworks family. 🚀 It’s been hard to put into words what this chapter has meant to me—so many projects, early mornings, wild locations, last-minute curveballs… but above all, it’s the people I’ve worked with that made it all worthwhile. The on-set relationships, the laughs, the problem-solving, the shared chaos and wins—I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve walked away with a ton of experience, a couple awards and the ability to handle pretty much any situation thrown at me and I even picked up a few new skills along the way. Definitely feels like the end of an era, but also the beginning of something new. I’m looking forward to what is next. Huge thanks to everyone who’s been part of the ride, you know who you are!
