The world is a crazy place right now and one of the only things keeping me moving forward is making art and connecting with my local communities. It feels wild to promote an art show and to ask for your attention when there are so many other events unfolding and atrocities happening on a daily basis. I feel like connecting to our communities, friends, and loved ones is an important aspect to resistance and resilience.
The images here are all from archived family photos. The man here is my father and the roads and maps are from his trip moving out West from West Virginia in either the late 70s or early 80s.
This collage and two other were made for a current show "Now what remains" that has an opening reception on thursday (Jan. 29th) at @albertastreetgallery . Please consider attending if only to surround yourself with a community of neighbors and supportive beings.

Midterm review, demonstrating Exercises #1 - 4. From Literary > drafting > multivalent > form each exercise builds from the last revealing more nuance and interpretative potential. I am delighted that the students embraced the unknown and committed to an iterative process towards an investigation of poetics, meaning, and translations. Will share more direct student work in the near future.
